The European Union will use the Bavarian Nordic smallpox vaccine to reduce the outbreak of monkeypox. 

Agreement between Danish manufacturer Bavarian Nordic K and European Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Authority:

An agreement has been signed between the European Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Authority and Danish manufacturer Bavarian Nordic to purchase 110,000 doses of the vaccine to be used to contain the outbreak. The vaccine is marketed in Europe by IMVANEX, the U.S. In JYNNEOS and in Canada as IMVAMUNE.

Norway and Iceland will be the first to provide the vaccine:

According to the information received, the delivery of vaccines to the European Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Authority will begin immediately and will be completed during the next months. The vaccine will be made available to EU member states, Norway and Iceland, in response to the current monkeypox outbreak, informed by Bavarian Nordic.

The cases of coronavirus are increasing rapidly all over the world and due to this the danger of a fourth wave of corona is hovering over everyone's head. Amidst all this, a virus has been confirmed which is believed to be more deadly than corona. In fact, according to Britain's Health Protection Agency, the disease 'Monkeypox' virus transmitted from rats to humans has been confirmed. According to the agency, monkeypox virus infection is a rare infection and it does not spread easily to humans.

Time-Period for which monkeypox disease stays 

The monkeypox virus infection is a rare infection and the disease lasts for 2-4 weeks.Rashes develop on the patient's body, starting from the face and spreading to other parts of the body. The lesions proceed through macules, papules, vesicles, pustules and scabs. The disease lasts for 2-4 weeks.

Modes of monkeypox-virus spread in humans : 

Monkeypox is a rare disease found in some countries of the world. In most cases, this disease is transmitted from rats and monkeys to humans. Apart from this, after coming in contact with an infected person, this disease can spread in the human body through the eyes, nose or mouth. Contact with animals infected with monkeypox increases the risk of this disease.This virus is related to the family of chicken pox and the symptoms seen in the patient when infected with it can be mild or severe. Research is still going on around the world on monkeypox.

Symptoms Monkeypox Virus:

The symptoms so far seen in patients infected with monkeypox have so far been symptoms of flu, symptoms seen in smallpox and symptoms of pneumonia. Apart from this, red coloured rash and rashes also appear on the face and body of the patient. These symptoms can be mild and severe. Initially, the symptoms seen when infected with monkeypox may be mild but later on these symptoms can become very severe. The symptoms seen in a patient when infected with monkeypox are as follows.

What WHO says on Monkeypox:

According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), monkeypox cases are mostly spotted closer to tropical rainforests inhabited by animals that carry the monkeypox virus.

Most infected region:

Democratic Republic of the Congo has been reported in maximum infected cases and outside Africa mostly spread due to international travel or imported animals.

Treatment & Prevention of Monkeypox Virus:

According to the World Health Organisation, there is currently no exact treatment for monkeypox disease.When infected with this disease, the patient is treated to reduce the symptoms. According to Dr Colin Brown, Director of Clinical and Emerging Infections of Britain's Health Protection Agency, this disease does not spread easily to humans, so its cases are rarely seen. Keeping an infected person in isolation reduces the risk of spreading it to other people. Apart from this, to prevent the infection of monkeypox, it should be confirmed first.  

Cautionary note 

Human-to-human transmission is thought to occur primarily through large respiratory droplets, which generally cannot travel more than a few feet, so prolonged face-to-face contact would be needed.
