Patiala Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal today conducted a surprise inspection of the Seva Kendra and the Sub-Registrar Office in Patiala. He interacted with citizens who had come for property registrations and other official work to obtain feedback regarding government services.

He also reviewed the arrangements for seating, drinking water, and other public amenities available at the premises. On the occasion, he warned the staff to ensure that citizens do not face any kind of inconvenience.

Reviewing the Punjab Government’s flagship Easy Registry programme, Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal emphasized that citizens should get their registration deeds prepared directly at the Sub-Registrar offices through the employees deployed at the help desk by paying only the official fee of Rs. 550. The Deputy Commissioner instructed the employees responsible for preparing sale deeds to make people aware of this facility and encourage them to get their sale deeds prepared at the office itself.

He said that this would save citizens from paying hefty fees charged by private individuals and middlemen for preparing sale deeds. He also sought feedback from citizens who had come for registration and asked whether anyone had harassed or troubled them.

While interacting with the public, the DC stated that under the special initiative of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government has eliminated unnecessary public inconvenience and extra monetary transactions during property registrations by dismantling the unholy nexus, and now citizens do not require any tout, broker, or agent for getting their registrations done.

Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal also inspected the Seva Kendra and gathered information from citizens regarding any difficulties faced while availing services. He directed the Seva Kendra in-charge to ensure that no citizen faces any problem.

Dr. Aggarwal said that under the Punjab Government’s special initiative “Sarkar Tuhade Dwar,” citizens are now availing services provided at Seva Kendras from the comfort of their homes through the helpline number 1076. This has provided significant relief to rural families, senior citizens, working professionals, and people who are unable to travel outside.

He stated that the district administration is committed to ensuring that citizens receive government services in a completely transparent and hassle-free manner at government offices. Clear instructions have been issued to officials and employees that no citizen should be allowed to face any difficulty in government offices.

ADC Anuprita Johal and other officials were also present on the occasion. Meanwhile, citizens who had come to the Patiala Sub-Registrar Office and Seva Kendra for their registrations and other work appreciated the interaction by Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal.

They said that the Easy Registry initiative has brought a visible change, and registrations are now being completed transparently in a much shorter time. People visiting the Seva Kendra also appreciated the Deputy Commissioner’s visit and shared their problems on the spot, which were resolved immediately.

The Deputy Commissioner informed that such surprise inspections would continue in other departments as well.
