In a landmark initiative to strengthen employment opportunities for the youth of Jammu & Kashmir, Desh Bhagat University, Punjab, in collaboration with the Nations Development Association (NDA), Cluster University Srinagar, the National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), Srinagar, and MY Bharat J&K (Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India), is organising the 77th State-Level Mega Job Fair 2026 on July 28, 2026, at Amar Singh College, Srinagar.

The prestigious event will be graced by the Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir as the Chief Guest, reaffirming the Government's commitment to youth empowerment, skill development, and employment generation. The Mega Job Fair is a first-of-its-kind collaborative initiative in which a university has gone beyond its conventional role of imparting education to bring leading employers directly to the doorstep of the youth of Kashmir.

It reflects Desh Bhagat University's philosophy that the responsibility of a university does not end with awarding degrees but extends to creating meaningful career opportunities and enhancing employability. The event is among the largest employment drives ever organised in Jammu & Kashmir, bringing together more than 50 leading national and multinational companies offering over 10,000 employment opportunities across sectors including Banking, Information Technology, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Retail, Insurance, Hospitality, Telecommunications, Education, Pharmaceuticals, Consulting, Electric Vehicles, E-commerce, and Overseas Recruitment.

The highest salary package being offered is ₹12 lakh per annum, while numerous other organisations will provide attractive salary packages and long-term career growth opportunities for graduates, postgraduates, diploma holders, ITI candidates, nursing professionals, engineers, and other skilled youth.

Some of the renowned participating organisations include HDFC Bank, ICICI Banking & Insurance, Axis Bank, IDFC FIRST Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, SBI Life Insurance, LIC, Niva Bupa Health Insurance, Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd., Airtel Payments Bank, Blinkit, Zepto, Spark Minda, Dixon Technologies, Adecco India Ltd., Sarovar Portico Hotels, DS Group, Wishfin, Shriram General Insurance, Innovision Ltd., Vowcare Pharma, Ryonan Electric Pvt. Thousands of Kashmiri students have pursued their education at our University and today hold distinguished positions as doctors, engineers, academicians, entrepreneurs, civil servants, healthcare professionals, and corporate leaders across India and abroad.

For countless families in the Valley, Desh Bhagat University is not merely an institution it is a second home." He added, "This Mega Job Fair is our contribution towards fulfilling the aspirations of the youth of Jammu & Kashmir. Rather than asking students to travel across the country in search of employment, we are bringing leading companies to Kashmir.

This initiative reflects our commitment to inclusive growth, industry-academia collaboration, and employment generation." Prof. Sadawarti further stated that the Mega Job Fair is being organised as part of Desh Bhagat University's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives dedicated to empowering youth and strengthening the employment ecosystem in Jammu & Kashmir.

Prof. Mohammad Mobin, Vice Chancellor, Cluster University Srinagar, welcomed the initiative and described it as a historic opportunity for the youth of Kashmir. He said the Mega Job Fair would provide thousands of young job seekers with direct access to leading employers from across the country, enabling them to secure meaningful employment and build successful careers without leaving the region.

He appreciated the efforts of Desh Bhagat University, the Nations Development Association (NDA), NIELIT Srinagar, and MY Bharat J&K for working collectively towards youth empowerment, skill development, and employment generation. He expressed confidence that such collaborative initiatives would significantly strengthen the employment ecosystem of Jammu & Kashmir and contribute to the socio-economic development of the region.

The event has been carefully designed to provide a comprehensive employment platform featuring on-the-spot interviews, direct recruiter interactions, career counselling, industry networking, and placement guidance. Thousands of students and job seekers from universities, colleges, technical institutions, and professional institutes across Jammu & Kashmir are expected to participate.

The organisers emphasised that the initiative symbolises the collective vision of Desh Bhagat University, Cluster University Srinagar, NIELIT Srinagar, the Nations Development Association (NDA), and MY Bharat J&K to bridge the gap between education and employment while contributing to the socio-economic development of the region.

The 77th State-Level Mega Job Fair 2026 is expected to become a historic milestone in the employment landscape of Jammu & Kashmir, reinforcing Desh Bhagat University's legacy of serving the region through quality education, skill development, industry partnerships, and career opportunities.
