Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra, General Secretary Shiromani Akali Dal today said that Congress is so bewildered of achievements of SAD-BJP government in the field of higher education that it confined itself to false and negative publicity.

Daring Punjab Pardesh Congress Congress Chief Capt. Amrinder Singh to accompany him to witness the truth of new universities and colleges established in the state by SAD-BJP government, Prof. Chandumajra said that 6 Universities and 15 Degree colleges established by the SAD-BJP government under the able leadership of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal were fully operational and thousands of students were getting education there.

Reacting strongly against an advertisement issued by PPCC that depicts newly established universities as mere paper work, Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra said that Congress has no issue against SAD-BJP alliance thus it was trying to create illusions. He said that leaders of Congress party were so much frustrated that they can’t even saw the World Class buildings of these newly established Universities and thousands of students getting education there.

Giving an account of newly established universities in the state, Prof. Chandumajra said that Punjab Congress might not be aware of Central University at Bathinda, Chitkara University at Rajpura, Guru Kashi University at Talwandi Sabo and Sri Guru Ravidas University at Hoshiarpur besides Sri Guru Granth Sahib University at Fatehgarh Sahib and IIT at Ropar, as they were in deep slumber during last five years.  He said that the construction work of building of DAV University Jalandhar was almost completed and it would commence classes from coming academic session.

Highlighting the initiatives of SAD-BJP government to promote higher education in rural areas, SAD leader said that it was for the first time in the history of the state that quality education was provided to rural youth by establishing 16 new colleges under the direct supervision of universities. He said that these university colleges at Ghanaur (Patiala), Sardulgarh (Mansa), Balachaur (Nawan Shehar), Guru Harsahai (Ferozepur), Dhilwan (Barnala), Narot Jaimal Singh (Gurdaspur), Sikhwala (Mukatsar), Nihal Singh Wala (Moga), Jaito (Faridkot), Ghuda (Bathinda), Chuni Kalan (Fatehgarh Sahib), Mithra (Kapurthala), Chungh (Tarntaran), Verka (Amritsar) and Moonak (Sangrur) were filling the gap between urban and rural education level.

Expressing distress over carrying the false and negative publicity of Congress by a section of media, Prof. Chandumajra appealed media persons to verify the facts before carrying them as it may not only mislead the common person but also resulted in the loss of media’s credibility. He said that people of Punjab were fully aware of the fact that SAD-BJP had put the state into a higher orbit of development thus tactics adopted by Congress to mislead them would proved to be futile.
