Punjab Public Works and Power Minister S. Harbhajan Singh ETO today laid the foundation stone for the upgradation and renovation of the road connecting Kaleke to Ramana Chak via Berianwala in the Raiya Assembly Constituency. The Punjab Government will spend ₹4.55 crore on the renovation of this 5.30-kilometre-long road. Speaking on the occasion, Cabinet Minister S. Harbhajan Singh ETO said that under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government is committed to strengthening the state's infrastructure and providing world-class road connectivity to its people.

He said that the project will not only provide better transportation facilities to the residents of the area but will also greatly benefit agriculture, trade and daily commuters. The Minister informed that the tendering process for the project has already been completed and the work is targeted to be completed within the next six months.

He emphasized that no compromise will be made on the quality of construction and that the road will be built strictly in accordance with the prescribed engineering standards. He further stated that the width of the existing road will be increased from 10 feet to 18 feet, ensuring smoother traffic movement and enhanced road safety.

The upgraded road will be constructed using high-quality specifications to improve its strength, durability and service life. S. Harbhajan Singh ETO reiterated that the Punjab Government is giving top priority to long-pending developmental works across the state.
