In celebration of the "Har Ghar Tiranga" initiative from 13th to 15th August 2024, commemorating the 78th Independence Day of India, the Sports Department of the Chandigarh Administration organized a grand Cyclothon at Sukhna Lake. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of around 200 sports persons.
The Cyclothon was flagged off by the Shri Rajeev Verma, Advisor to the Administrator, U.T., Chandigarh, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The event commenced and concluded at the Lake Sports Complex, The event was part of a nationwide campaign, an initiative by the Government of India, to honor the sacrifices of those who fought for India's Independence and to reflect on the nation’s progress since 15th August 1947.
The Cyclothon also served as an awareness campaign to promote respect for our sacred National Flag, which symbolizes the unity and pride of all Indians. The primary aim of the Cyclothon was to inspire the citizens of Chandigarh to hoist the National Flag at their homes, maintaining the joyous spirit of India’s Independence.
Shri Hari Kallikkat, Secretary Sports, Shri Sorabh Arora, Director Sports, Dr. Sunil Rayat, Joint Director Sports, and other officers of sports Department was also present during the event.
प्रशासक के सलाहकार ने सुखना झील पर साइक्लोथॉन को दिखाई हरी झंडी

भारत के 78वें स्वतंत्रता दिवस के उपलक्ष्य में 13 से 15 अगस्त 2024 तक "हर घर तिरंगा" पहल के उपलक्ष्य में चंडीगढ़ प्रशासन के खेल विभाग ने सुखना झील पर एक भव्य साइक्लोथॉन का आयोजन किया। इस कार्यक्रम में लगभग 200 खिलाड़ियों ने उत्साहपूर्वक भाग लिया।
साइक्लोथॉन को प्रशासक के सलाहकार, यू.टी. चंडीगढ़ श्री राजीव वर्मा ने हरी झंडी दिखाई, जो इस अवसर पर मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में उपस्थित थे। यह कार्यक्रम लेक स्पोर्ट्स कॉम्प्लेक्स में शुरू हुआ और समाप्त हुआ। यह कार्यक्रम भारत सरकार द्वारा शुरू किए गए राष्ट्रव्यापी अभियान का हिस्सा था, जिसका उद्देश्य भारत की स्वतंत्रता के लिए लड़ने वालों के बलिदान का सम्मान करना और 15 अगस्त 1947 से अब तक देश की प्रगति को दर्शाना था।
साइक्लोथॉन ने हमारे पवित्र राष्ट्रीय ध्वज के प्रति सम्मान को बढ़ावा देने के लिए एक जागरूकता अभियान के रूप में भी काम किया, जो सभी भारतीयों की एकता और गौरव का प्रतीक है। साइक्लोथॉन का मुख्य उद्देश्य चंडीगढ़ के नागरिकों को भारत की स्वतंत्रता की खुशी की भावना को बनाए रखते हुए अपने घरों पर राष्ट्रीय ध्वज फहराने के लिए प्रेरित करना था।
इस कार्यक्रम के दौरान खेल सचिव श्री हरि कल्लिक्कट, खेल निदेशक श्री सोरभ अरोड़ा, संयुक्त निदेशक खेल डॉ. सुनील रायत और खेल विभाग के अन्य अधिकारी भी मौजूद रहे।
