India is celebrating its 75th year of Independence as “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”. Ministry of Home Affairs have planned various programmes and activities as part of these celebrations including 75 „Cycle Rallies‟ by Central Armed Police Forces and Assam Rifles. These Rallies would originate from various parts of the Country and would culminate at „Rajghat‟, New Delhi on the occasion of Birth Anniversary of „Father of the Nation‟ i.e. 2nd October, 2021.These Rallies commemorate the Glorious History and Culture of India as well as 75 years of progress and development. The routes for „Cycle Rallies‟ have been planned in such a way that it passes through the important places associated with India‟s freedom struggle. The Cyclists participating in these Rallies would be interacting with the people on their way associating masses with the „Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav‟ celebrations and spreading the message of National Unity.CRPF have organized Cycle Rallies from the four directions of the Country which will culminate at Rajghat, New Delhi on 2nd October, 2021.

The Cycle Rally from North was flagged off from Group Centre, CRPF, Jammu by Hon‟ble Lt. Governor Jammu-Kashmir on 23rd September, 2021. The Rally arrived at Jang-E-Azadi Memorial, Kartarpur, on evening of 25th September after paying homage at Jallianwala Bagh, Amritsar. A felicitation function was organized to welcome the Cycle Rally at Jung-E-Azadi by Group Centre, CRPF, Saraikhas, Jalandhar.Sh. Harjinder Singh, DIG, GC, CRPF, Jalandhar in his welcome address said that the objective is to showcase the journey of New India and celebrate the contribution of Freedom Fighters, including the Unsung Heroes of the freedom struggle. To commemorate the monumental occasion, various activities are being conducted to celebrate “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”, across the Country under the overall sprit of “Jan Bhagidari and Jan Andolan”.Sh. M.C. Panwar, IG, CRPF, North West Sector, Chandigarh Chief Guest and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.In his address Sh. M.C. Panwar, IG, CRPF, NWS, highlighted the importance of the concept of „Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav‟ and CRPF‟s participation in the celebration. He encouraged and motivated the Cyclists.The Cycle Rally Team laid wreath at the Jang-E-Azadi Memorial. The cultural programme was organized on the occasion and CRPF Pipe Band display was much appreciated by the audience. The Cyclist Team was presented with the Momento by the Chief Guest.The Rally will be flagged off for the next stage from Group Centre, CRPF, Saraikhas, Jalandhar on 26th September and after laying wreath at Teenmurti Shaheedi Smarak, Jugraon Bridge & Shaheed Udham Singh Smarak at Sirhind will reach Rajghat, Delhi, cycling via Karnal & Sonepat, paying homage at the Memorials of Freedom Fighters and interacting with the people and motivating public enroute.
