On the occasion of World Bicycle Day, the Cycling Association of Punjab organized the Ashmita Khelo India Women League and a cycle rally near Government College, Sri Muktsar Sahib. Female cyclists from different age groups participated enthusiastically in the event. The main objective of the competition was to promote cycling among women and provide them with a platform to showcase their talent.
According to the results, in the Sub-Junior category, Chashmeet Kaur secured third place, Rajveer Kaur finished second, and Navdeep Kaur claimed first position.In the Junior category, Neeraj Rani secured third place, Namastika finished second, and Rupinder Kaur claimed first position.
Similarly, in the Elite category, Prince Deep secured third place, Kanchan finished second, and Jaskarandeep Kaur claimed first position, drawing everyone’s attention with her outstanding performance.On this occasion, the General Secretary of the Cycling Association of Punjab, Jagdeep Singh Kahlon, said in his address that the association has been making continuous efforts to promote cycling in Punjab.
He stated that programs like the Ashmita Khelo India Women League provide an excellent platform for women athletes to step forward and establish their identity at the national level. He added that their aim is to encourage more girls in Punjab to take up sports and build a bright future.
He further said that cycling is not only a sport but also an important means of maintaining good health and protecting the environment. Such events play a significant role in inspiring young people to participate in sports.On this occasion, B.S. Sudan, Treasurer of the Cycling Association of Punjab, expressed special gratitude to the President of the Cycling Federation of India, Pankaj Singh, Chairman Onkar Singh, Secretary General Maninderpal Singh, and the President of the Cycling Association of Punjab, Charanjit Singh, along with General Secretary Jagdeep Singh Kahlon, for bringing this important event to Punjab.
Among those present on the occasion were Opinder Deol, B.S.
