Commissioner Secretary, Labour & Employment, Sourabh Bhagat today conducted an extensive tour of District Ramban and listened to the grievances of the public in connection with the three Jan Abhiyan launched in the UT ahead of Back to Village phase III program. The Commissioner Secretary also reviewed the functioning of the Labour and Employment Department in the District at meeting with the concerned government functionaries.He directed the officers of Labour and Employment department to put in sincere efforts for providing   all benefits of schemes to deserving people besides sensitizing them about welfare schemes during ongoing Jan-Abhiyan as well as Back to Village-3 programmes.The meeting was attended by the Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Nazim Zai Khan, Labour Commissioner, Abdul Rashid War, Secretary JKBOCWWB, Muzaffar Ahmed Peer, ALC Rakesh Arora, AD Employment Naresh Kumar and reviewed the progress scheme wise.He thoroughly reviewed the achievements being made by the Labour and Employment department under different schemes sponsored by the Centre as well as UT government.

He directed the ALC to accelerate the speed of registration of construction workers with JKBOCWWB under Mission Mode Project (MMP) so that they can avail the benefits of various financial assistance schemes launched by the government.Later, while interacting with the registered construction workers, the Commissioner Secretary said that the Department has redoubled its efforts to   provide various financial assistance including scholarships to the two wards of the registered workers, besides medical assistance for chronic diseases, disability and death assistance to the workers.He also distributed labour cards and financial assistance amounting to Rs. 19 Lakh under different schemes among 253 beneficiaries. The DDC apprised the Commissioner Secretary that the Department has disbursed an amount Rs 2.78 crore among 7216 registered construction workers during lockdown in four installments, besides over Rs.  1 crore under lower education,   Rs. 57.35 lakh under Death and Funeral , Rs. 6.06 lakh to chronic patients,  Rs. 1.38 lakh under  Disability  and Rs. 1.30 lakh under Higher Education schemes.Earlier, the AD Employment and ALC have briefed the chair about achievements under MMP and status of implementation of PM-SYM.
