The Civil Surgeon Dr. Manjit Singh along with a team of health officials today visited houses of patients infected with Coronavirus in Nayagaon and inquired about their condition. He asked the family members of the patients to maintain the morale of the patients, follow a good and nutritious diet and adhere to all other guidelines issued by the government and the health department. The Civil Surgeon said, “Mission Fateh campaign launched by the Punjab government against this deadly disease can succeed only with the active support of the people and together we can make our society disease free and healthy.”Meanwhile, he informed that a total of 14 positive cases have come to light in Dasmesh Nagar and Gobind Nagar where two areas-one near post office and another i near Century public school, have been converted into micro containment zones. Dr Manjit Singh said that in view of the condition of all the 14 patients, they have been placed under home quarantine while medical tests of their close contacts are being conducted. In addition, a survey is being conducted in nearby houses.Dr Manjit Singh appealed to the people not to step out of homes without important work and if there is an urgent need to move out,the face should be covered with masks, handkerchiefs, cloths etc. and necessary distance from each other should be maintained. It is also important to wash hands frequently with soap and water.He asked them to do online transactions to pay for water,electricity, insurance, mobile, cylinder refill and other bills, instead of going to the market and offices for the same. He said that people should visit hospitals in case of any serious problem only. Instead, they should contact the health department’s helpline 104 for the expert advice. Deputy Medical Commissioner Dr Daljeet Singh, senior medical officer Dr. Kuljit Kaur, Dr.Sanjay Sharma, Health Inspector Bhupinder Singh, Health worker Jaspal Singh and Rekha Rani were also present on the occasion.
