Under the ongoing campaign “Har Shukarvaar, Dengue Te Vaar”, teams of the District Health Department conducted special inspections for dengue prevention in various government and private offices across the district. Civil Surgeon Dr. Sangeeta Jain also visited the Municipal Corporation office, Mohali, to review the ongoing inspection drive.

She informed that health teams thoroughly checked water containers, coolers, flower pots and other potential mosquito breeding sites inside and outside the building. No Aedes mosquito larva was found during the inspection. She said it is a positive sign that the office management has been maintaining cleanliness and following necessary preventive measures against dengue.

Dr. Sangeeta Jain appealed to the public to ensure that water does not stagnate in and around their homes and workplaces. She advised people to observe a weekly “Dry Day” by emptying and cleaning coolers, trays, pots and other water containers regularly to prevent the breeding of mosquitoes.

She added that public awareness and community participation are essential to effectively control dengue and protect public health during the season. District Epidemiologist Dr Anamica Soni was also present on the occasion.
