PSPCL Restores Power Supply In All 21 Flood Hit Villages In Lohian Khas

In a much relief to the people of 21 flood-affected villages, the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) has restored power supply in all 21 villages falling under Lohian Khas block of Shahkot sub-division of the district.Divulging the details, the Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma said that in a major reprieve the administration has been able to start poer supply in 18 villages out of the total 21.He said that the power supply Gatti Raipur, Gatti Bakhsh, Kamaalpur, Jakkapur, Kakkar Kalan, Fatehpur, Nawan Pind Khalewal, Kang Khurd, Jalalpur, Sardarwala, Kotha, Mandala, Nasirpur, Jania¸ Mundi kaalu, Mundi cholian, Chak wadala, Chhanna, Mehrajwala, Mundi Shehrian, Dhakka Basti. Complementing the POWERCOM officers for rendering great service, the Deputy Commissioner said that restoration of power supply would provide great relief to the people in these villages.Meanwhile, Executive Engineer PSPCL Mr. Gurpreet Singh said that floods have caused major damage to the power infrastructure in the Shahkot Sub Division due to which restoring the power supply was a herculean task however he said that despite of everything they have been able to restore supply in all villages.He said that working against all odds the PSPCL employees straightened the poles with transformers and then amidst the danger of getting electric shocks restored the power supply in villages even by using boats.
