Punjab Vigilance Bureau Hands Over Day’s Salary To Cm For Flood-Hit Kerala

It is now the turn of the officers and officials of the State Vigilance Bureau to contribute to the Kerala flood relief efforts of the Punjab government in response to the personal appeal of Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh.The Bureau staff has contributed a day’s salary to help the people of the flood ravaged state, an official spokesperson said on Friday.ADGP-cum-Chief Director Vigilance Bureau B K Uppal handed over a cheque of Rs. 5 lakh to Captain Amarinder Singh at the latter's official residence this afternoon, said the spokesperson.The Chief Minister expressed his appreciation for the gesture, lauding the people of Punjab for coming out in large numbers to help Kerala and its people. Captain Amarinder Singh exhorted all sections to come forward and donate generously in Kerala’s hour of misery.Notably, the State Government has already dispatched four plane loads of 150 MTs of relief material for the relief and rehabilitation of the flood affected people.
