The State Vigilance Commission has ordered the Deputy Commissioner, Pulwama to take immediate steps for retrieval of State Land in Pampore town by demolishing the unauthorised constructions allegedly raised by some persons in connivance and conspiracy with officials of Municipal Committee Pampore.These directions were issued by the Commission after examining the report submitted by Tehsildar Pampore and Executive Officer Municipal Committee Pampore in a case Titled Abdul Rehman Ganie v/s Ghulam Ahmad sheikh and others.
Earlier, the Commission on a complaint lodged by one Abdul Rehman Ganie, regarding raising of unauthorised structures by one Ghulam Ahmad Shiekh by encroaching the State Land falling under survey No.685 min at Kadalbal Pampore allegedly with support and connivance of some officials of Municipal Committee, Pampore who instead of taking any action against the encroacher ,merely remained mute spectators until the encroacher managed the construction of three storied shopping complex over State Land, sought enquiry reports from Tehsildar and Executive Officer Municipal Committee ,Pampore based on documents and records, in light of allegations levelled.
Perusal of report submitted by the Tehsidar Pampore, prima-facie revealed that one Ghulam Ahmad Shiekh R/o Kadalbal Pampore has erected the structure on land, which is recorded as State Land, falling under khasra No.1402. Further, the report submitted by Executive Officer revealed that irresponsible and allegedly conniving attitude of concerned officials of Municipal Committee Pampore not only resulted in grabbing of State Land in the town but, also lead to illegal and unauthorised construction of huge commercial establishments thereon, amounting to misuse of official position on the part of officials at the helm of affairs, besides, huge loss to the State Exchequer.The State Vigilance Commission taking note of encroachments over State Land and alleged corrupt and irresponsible approach depicted by Revenue and Municipal Authorities involved in aiding and supporting the illegal constructions over State Land, directed Deputy Commissioner Pulwama to personally monitor the matter and take immediate steps for retrieval of State Land by demolishing the illegal construction raised .Further, the Deputy Commissioner has been directed to fix the responsibility on officials involved, ensure strict action against encroachers and submit Action Taken Report before the Commission on next date of hearing.
