The Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission today directed the Punjab Police to submit a monthly action taken report regarding the atrocities committed on dalit community in the state. The commission has also recommended strict action against the institutions indulging in bungling and negligence in implementing various student welfare schemes.Disclosing this here today, the Chairman of the Commission Rajesh Bagha said that the commission conducted a full commission meeting with the various departmental heads and considered the multiple issues concerning SC community related to various departments. The commission also issued directions to deal with the issues in a time bound manner besides advising applying of SC Act in the course of any big mishap and conviction for more than 10 years.

Divulging more, Mr. Bagha said that the police department has been directed to display boards as per the amendment in the Atrocity Act at public places, police stations, government offices depicting information about the commission in order to ensure easy reach of SC community to the commission in case of need. The Chairman also said that the next full commission meeting of the commission would be held on 13th December. On the occasion Mr. Suresh Arora DGP Punjab, Mr. Inderpreet Singh Sahota ADGP (Crime), Mr. Parveen Kumar Thind Director Local Government, Mr. Raj Singh, Senior Vice Chairman of Punjab SC Commission, Mr. Rajinder Singh Guddu, Vice Chairman Mr. Raj Bahadur Singh, Deputy Director Ms. Bharti Canady, Mr. Karanvir Singh Indora, Mr. Babu Singh Panjawa, Mr. Gian Chand Diwali, Mr. Prabh Dyal Rampur, Mr. Raj Kumar Hans, Mr. Tarsem Singh Sialka and Mr. Darshan Singh (All Non-Official Members) were also present.
