Sarabjeet Singh Jhinjer, In-charge of the Ghanaur constituency and President of the Youth Wing of the Shiromani Akali Dal, visited the residence of taxi driver Ranjot Singh in Ludhiana, who was seriously injured due to police brutality. He met Ranjot Singh and his family and expressed solidarity with them, assuring the victim’s family that the Shiromani Akali Dal would continue its struggle at every level until justice is delivered.

While speaking to the media, Jhinjer said that targeting Sikh youth in Punjab raises serious questions about the failure and intentions of the Bhagwant Mann government. He stated that when the police, who are meant to protect the law, themselves turn oppressive, where should an ordinary citizen go for justice?

Jhinjer said that the Aam Aadmi Party government is reviving memories of the dark era of Congress rule in Punjab, when false cases, torture, and repression against youth were common. Even today, Sikh youth are being stopped from wearing turbans, keeping beards, and living with their identity, which is a direct attack on the entire Sikh community.

Issuing a strong warning to the Bhagwant Mann government, Jhinjer said that if strict action is not taken immediately against the police officials involved in this heinous incident, the Shiromani Akali Dal will be forced to come out on the streets and launch a major agitation, for which the government will bear full responsibility.

Jhinjer alleged that the Bhagwant Mann government is working at the behest of policies dictated from Delhi and that Manish Sisodia’s “Saam-Daam-Dand-Bhed” strategy is being implemented in Punjab. He expressed shock that not a single representative of the Aam Aadmi Party has so far visited the victim’s family, highlighting the government’s apathy and insensitivity.

Jhinjer stated that the Shiromani Akali Dal has always served the Panth, Punjab, and Punjabi identity selflessly. The oppression being inflicted on Sikh youth is not merely an attack on an individual, but a direct assault on Punjab’s communal harmony, shared culture, and mutual trust—something the Akali Dal will never tolerate at any cost.

Launching a sharp attack on Congress as well, Jhinjer said that Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party are two sides of the same coin in terms of anti-Sikh thinking. The wounds inflicted on Punjab by Congress are now being further deepened by the Aam Aadmi Party.

Jhinjer said that the silence of the Punjab government proves that the government is giving a free hand to the police. Any injustice committed against youth on the basis of religion will not be tolerated by the Shiromani Akali Dal under any circumstances.

In conclusion, he said that there is an urgent need to rein in anti-social and anti-religious elements, otherwise Punjab’s peace and harmony could be endangered. The Shiromani Akali Dal will ensure justice for the victim Ranjot Singh and will never tolerate any attack on the dignity of the Sikh community.

On this occasion, Rakwinder Singh Gabaria, Jaskaran Singh Deol, Amanjot Golwaria, Jasdeep Singh Kauke, Simranjit Singh Honey Chandok, Simran Singh Dhandok, Kavaljit Singh, Pritpal Singh Randhawa, Baljinder Singh, Pritam Singh Khalsa, Jatinder Singh Khalsa, Bhawanjit Sidhu, Upjinder Singh, Rajwinder Singh Mangat, and others were present.
