Youth Akali Dal President Sarabjeet Singh Jhinjer today launched a scathing attack on former Shiromani Akali Dal leaders Prem Singh Chandumajra and Bibi Jagir Kaur for telling lies at Sri Akal Takhat Sahib.
In a press conference held here, the Youth Akali Dal President said, "It's highly shameful and condemnable that Prem Singh Chandumajra and Bibi Jagir Kaur told blatant lies at Sri Akal Takhat Sahib on December 2, refusing to accept that they had welcomed the pardon to Dera Sacha Sauda Chief Gurmeet Singh Ram Rahim."
Sarabjeet Singh Jhinjer first showcased the video of Prem Singh Chandumajra at Sri Akal Takhat Sahib, where he had said that he never appreciated or welcomed the pardon. Even after Jathedar Sahib asked him to accept that he had given such statements in the press, he clearly refused.
Later, Jhinjer showcased an interview of Prem Singh Chandumajra from 2015, given to a channel, where he can be seen addressing Ram Rahim as 'Ji' and saying that we accept the decision of giving pardon to the Dera Chief.
He also chided people who had questioned why the Dera Chief did not go in person to seek forgiveness from Sri Akal Takhat Sahib. Showcasing the video, Jhinjer said, "This video clearly exposes how Prem Singh Chandumajra has no shame in lying to Jathedar Sahib, Sri Akal Takhat, and the Sikh Panth.
He clearly lied in front of Guru Hargobind Ji's Takhat and yet he shamelessly keeps on targeting Shiromani Akali Dal." The YAD President also showed a video of Bibi Jagir Kaur, who, in a statement to the media in 2015, is saying that we accept and express satisfaction with the decision to give pardon to the Dera Chief.
Whereas Jagir Kaur had claimed in front of Sri Akal Takhat Sahib during the hearing by 5 Jathedars that she 'never supported the decision and instead had condemned it', which now has been exposed as clearly false.
Jhinjer further said, "These leaders are shamelessly power-hungry, and it is clear that to save their skin, they can peddle all kinds of lies, even in front of our highest religious body, without any regret or remorse."The YAD President further said that "We will take this video evidence to Sri Akal Takhat Sahib's Jathedar and will demand that these leaders should be excommunicated from the Sikh Panth.
Such people who can so easily lie standing in front of the highest temporal authority have no right to be in the Sikh Panth." Sarabjeet Singh Jhinjer was accompanied by Shiromani Akali Dal's Fatehgarh Sahib Urban President Sarabjeet Singh Laddi.
