A comprehensive review meeting on the poll preparedness for the upcoming General Election to the Lok Sabha 2024 was conducted under the chairmanship of the Chief Electoral Officer, Union Territory of Chandigarh, at the New Secretariat Building, Sector-9, Chandigarh. The meeting was by Vinay Partap Singh, IAS,  Deputy Commissioner, R.K. Singh IPS, Inspector General of Police, Kanwardeep Kaur, IPS Senior Superintendent of Police, all Assistant Returning Officers and all Nodal Officers emphasizing the commitment to ensuring a smooth and efficient election process. 

The discussions focused on key areas including voter registration, deployment of election staff, security arrangements, and the implementation of technological tools to enhance the voting experience and accuracy. The Chief Electoral Officer highlighted the importance of coordination among different departments to facilitate a seamless electoral process. Special attention was given to the accessibility of polling stations, the integrity of the voter list, and the training of polling personnel. Security measures were also reviewed to ensure a peaceful election environment.

चंडीगढ़ के मुख्य निर्वाचन अधिकारी की अध्यक्षता में चंडीगढ़ के सेक्टर-9 स्थित नए सचिवालय भवन में आगामी 2024 के लोकसभा आम चुनाव के लिए मतदान तैयारियों पर एक व्यापक समीक्षा बैठक आयोजित की गई। बैठक में विनय प्रताप सिंह, आईएएस, उपायुक्त, आर.के. सिंह आईपीएस, पुलिस महानिरीक्षक, कंवरदीप कौर, आईपीएस वरिष्ठ पुलिस अधीक्षक, सभी सहायक रिटर्निंग अधिकारी और सभी नोडल अधिकारियों ने सुचारू और कुशल चुनाव प्रक्रिया सुनिश्चित करने की प्रतिबद्धता पर जोर दिया। 

चर्चा में मतदाता पंजीकरण, चुनाव कर्मचारियों की तैनाती, सुरक्षा व्यवस्था और मतदान अनुभव और सटीकता को बढ़ाने के लिए तकनीकी उपकरणों के कार्यान्वयन सहित प्रमुख क्षेत्रों पर ध्यान केंद्रित किया गया। मुख्य निर्वाचन अधिकारी ने निर्बाध चुनावी प्रक्रिया को सुविधाजनक बनाने के लिए विभिन्न विभागों के बीच समन्वय के महत्व पर प्रकाश डाला। मतदान केन्द्रों की सुगमता, मतदाता सूची की अखंडता तथा मतदान कर्मियों के प्रशिक्षण पर विशेष ध्यान दिया गया। शांतिपूर्ण चुनाव वातावरण सुनिश्चित करने के लिए सुरक्षा उपायों की भी समीक्षा की गई।
