Health department holds medical camps across district

The district health department has conducted medical camps to provide basic medical facilities to the people at different places in the district to prevent them from vector borne diseases. Civil surgeon Dr. Mahesh Kumar and Nodal Officer (Flood) Dr. Subhash Kumar said that due to the accumulation of flood water at various places, the risk of emergence of various water-borne diseases has increased. 

The Civil Surgeon said the health teams are active for the last three days at various places. Medical camps have been conducted at 22 Evacuation centers across the district. 

Apart from this, special arrangements have also been made in the government health institutions in the district, where the patients can come and get quality healthcare services. The medical team of the district hospital is providing medical help at Rain Basera in phase 6 and Phase 11 in Mohali. 

Dr Mahesh who visited  a medical camp at Daon village, said that people are being provided with essential medicines, ORS packets and getting examination and treatment services. It is worthwhile to mention that the District Health Department had already formed Rapid Response Teams, which are fully active to provide immediate medical assistance to the people.

The civil surgeon said that on the instructions of Health and Family Welfare minister Dr. Balbir Singh, all efforts are being made to provide medical assistance to the residents of the district. He said that the district health department is fully committed to the good health of the people. 

People can also contact Health department helpline No 104 to get medical advice. District Immunization Officer Dr. Girish Dogra, District Mass Media Officer Harcharan Singh Brar, Media Coordinator Baljinder Saini were also present with the CS.
