Iftakhar Naseem (JKAS-2015) today assumed the charge of District Information Officer (DIO), Kupwara.IftaKhar Naseem, who got repatriated from Ladakh, recently, has served in Kargil district of Ladakh UT for 4 years.

After assuming charge, the District Information Officer chaired an introductory meeting with the employees of District Information Centre (DIC), Kupwara and reviewed the functioning of the Department in the district.

The DIO enjoined upon the officials to work in complete synergy and team spirit with special focus on highlighting Govt. welfare schemes so that people can avail benefits of these schemes.He highlighted the role of media and said that media is playing a pivotal role in shaping public opinion, at present, apart from spreading information and educating people.

He stressed on the officials to highlight positive aspects of various development initiatives undertaken by government in the district and counter fake news and negative reporting.
