The Krishi Vigyan Kendra Budgam, SKUAST-K in collaboration with Animal Husbandry Department Budgam today kick-started a 15 days skill development programme for employment generation on Profitable Poultry Rearing.
The training is being conducted under Aspirational Block Development Programme (ABDP) 2022-23 for Surasyar and Pakherpora blocks of the district Budgam to build entrepreneurial mindset among the youth and develop their skills so that they can launch their own business ventures.
A total of 48 participants from both the aspirational blocks attended the inaugural function. Dr.Beenish Shakeel, Sr. Scientist and Head KVK Budgam, speaking on the occasion discussed the importance of this training programme for upliftment of the farming community.
Dr. Mohammad Amin Thokar, Poultry Development Officer Budgam talked about the role of Animal husbandry department in socio economic upliftment of the people who are associated with this sector.
Earlier, Dr. Mir Nadeem Hassan (Scientist Animal Science KVK Budgam and training coordinator) gave a detailed overview of the skill development programme, its purpose and the procedure for the training.
The programme was also attended by Scientists of the Kendra and Veterinary Assistant Surgeons of Animal Husbandry Department Budgam.
