Chandigarh Commission for protection of Child Rights to ensure the grassroots level awareness and protection of children launched “Haste Angan” program and released booklet on the preventative measures from pandemic for the children. The booklet was released by Ms. Nitika Pawar, IAS, Secretary Social Welfare, Chandigarh Administration along with Ms. Harjinder Kaur, Chairperson, CCPCR, Ms. Navjot Kaur, PCS, Director Social Welfare, Chandigarh Administration and Dr. Monica M Singh., Member CCPCR. The team along with Ms. Pooja Punchhi, Member CCPCR visited Anganwadis around Bapu Dham Colony and started the campaign with Ms. Sukhdev Kaur, Nodal Officer for the Haste Angan Program. The concerned CDPO Ms. Sheweta along with the Anganwadi workers will visit the homes in the area and enquire about the health and hygiene issues of the children with a special focus on the expecting mother. IEC material provided by the CCPCR will be distributed to all the beneficiaries and the awareness will be spread all over Chandigarh through 450 Anaganwadis. During the campaign, the impact of the second wave of COVID-19 will be examined and Best Child as per the assessment cards, Best Mother, and Best Anganwari will be selected to be awarded by the Commission in a special program. The focus of the program will be to provide a positive and hygienic environment to the children and young mothers to save from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and protection from the expected third wave and make the homes happy homes for the budding children.
