A month long internship programme from January-February, 2023 started at Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights (CCPCR) for students from different regional universities to provide knowledge in the area of the child protection and welfare. 

On 18.01.23, CCPCR organized inaugural session of this internship programme. Total 23 Law students of various regional universities are participating in this programme.Mrs. Harjinder Kaur, Chairperson, CCPCR warmly welcomed the Chief Guest of the occasion Padam Shri Mr. Hans raj Hans- a renowned legendary singer and Member of Parliament, North West Delhi and all the students for the concerned internship programme. 

While sharing her views with the interns, she told that the journey of Sh. Hans raj Hans ji from Raj gayak to Padam Shree Awardee is truly an inspiration for us in the field of Art,Politics & Spirituality, as he has established benchmark in every area.

She further added that interns should make most from this internship programme by enhancing their observational, research and analytical skills which will give them a lifelong advantage in their professional as well as on personal front.

The Chief Guest Shri. Hans Raj Hans admired & congratulated Ms. Harjinder Kaur, Chairperson, CCPCR for her vision and steps taken towards the wellbeing, safety & security of children of the Chandigarh-The City Beautiful. He interacted with the interns and motivated them to achieve the great heights in life with commitment & honesty. 

He talked about the challenges he faced but targeted vision & sincerity brought him success. Mrs. Ankita, POCSO Consultant, CCPCR, delivered presentation on POCSO Act-2012 and talked about the various sections, types of offences such as Sexual assault, Harassment, Child pornography. 

Interns were also made aware about the child friendly procedures like provision of assigning women officer, recording statement of child at his/her comfort, providing support person etc. in POCSO cases.The inaugural event was ended with vote of thanks and facilitation of the Chief Guest. 

Mr. Chanchal Singh, RTE Consultant, CCPCR, Mr. Kartar Singh, Legal Consultant, CCPCR, Mr. Arvind K Dhawan, Senior Assistant, CCPCR, Mr. Shekhar, Clerk, CCPCR and interns were present during this event.
