Reviewing the works being done under both phases of the urban environment Improvement program (UEIP), Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori today directed concerned departments to immediately submit utilization certificates for works completed under the first phase besides ensuring completion of ongoing works of the second phase.The Deputy Commissioner said that the state government had issued massive funds under both phases and now it's on executing agencies to ensure timely completion of all the projects. He asked officers since the first phase of this scheme was completed, the UCs to be submitted by the departments with immediate effects. He warns erring officials of strict action in case of any sort of delay.The DC said that under phase-2, as many as 255 works amounting to Rs. 3136.82 lakhs were vetted by the government to the local bodies department. He said that tenders of 248 works were allotted of which 220 works were started by various agencies and so far 94 projects have been completed. Similarly, 182 works worth Rs. 6736.93 crore were vetted for MC Jalandhar of which 175 works were allotted by the corporation, he added. He asked officials to complete these projects within the given timeline and submit UCs to his office.Meanwhile, the DC reviewed the status of Proprietary rights to slum dwellers under the Basera scheme and asked officials to expedite all pending proposals under this scheme.
