The Bandipora chapter of Bharat Scouts and Guides on Monday celebrated the Bharat Scouts and Guides Day at Army Goodwill School, here.The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad was the Chief Guest on the occasion.Addressing the participants, Dr Owais lauded Bharat Scouts and Guides for working tirelessly for the welfare of the people at the times of exigencies.He said the occasions like these provide an opportunity to the Bharat Scouts and Guides to highlight their activities and create awareness among the general public to extend their support for the growth of the organization.Dr Owais appealed to the children to actively participate in the activities of Scouts and Guides movement besides taking part in extracurricular activities. He advised them to follow the motive of Scouts and Guides movement and encourage more and more youths to lend a helping hand towards eradicating social evils from society.On the occasion 32 Boys and 32 girls registered themselves into the BHARAT Scouts and Guides. The newly registered children were presented uniforms and certificates by the Army as part of the celebrations.Prominent Scouts of Bandipora, late Ahamdullah Afandi and Ghulam Qadir were remembered on the occasion and rich tributes were paid to them for their services towards society.
