Kissan Pakhwada: Kissan mela held at Udhampur

As a part of Kissan Pakawada,Agriculture Department Udhampur today organized one day   Kissan mela under Aatma Nirbhar Bharat Scheme, here at Ram Leela ground - Kallar Himti.District Development Commissioner, Dr. Piyush Singla inaugurated the mela.Farmers from different panchayats of Udhampur Agriculture Sub- Division participated in the programme.In his inaugural address, the DDC appreciated the role of Agriculture, Rural Development and other allied departments for expansions of centrally sponsored schemes like KCC , PM-Kissan Yojana, Jeevika in district Udhampur. He said that such Melas encourage the farmers to adopt advanced techniques in agriculture and allied activities and also help them to i share their knowledge and experience.Terming agriculture as a boon for rural community, the DDC exhorted upon Agriculture Department to put in their sincere efforts in educating the farmers about the latest technological advancements for increasing crop production.He said that KCC scheme is a game changer for agriculture and allied sectors  as it will help small and marginal farmers to increase their income.   He asked the concerned departments to put in sincere efforts to achieve the target of  100% coverage of farmers under KCC scheme.The Chief Agriculture Officer Satish Bhagat also spoke on the occasion and urged upon the farming community to proactively avail the benefits of schemes of department.Earlier, Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer, Rajesh Gandotra presented welcome address and outlined the objective of Kissan Mela and Kissan Pakhwada.
