Gian Jyoti Global School celebrated Harvest season as Baisakhi at its campus in Phase-2, Mohali. On this occasion Baisakhi Mela was organized by the students and teachers. Stalls of Jalebi, Pakora and Sweets were arranged by the students. GianJyotians came dressed in traditional Punjabi colourful outfits with traditional ornaments and performed on various Punjabi songs.The motive behind the celebrations was to apprise the children of their rich culture and heritage. The school premise was aptly decorated depicting the harvest season. Children were explained about the importance of this festival.Speaking on the occasion Mrs. Ranjeet Bedi, Principal, Gian Jyoti Global School said that Baisakhi is not only a harvest festival but also an auspicious day as on this very day Shri. Guru Gobind Singh Ji created established the 'Khalsa Panth' with Panj Pyares.Bedi further said that the day also marks the beginning of the New Year for the people belonging to the Sikh and Hindu communities and this gives them another reason to celebrate the day. Prayers are offered to start the New Year on the right note.
