Union Minister of State for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Babul Supriyo on Wednesday slammed the Trinamool Congress for turning its Twitter profile picture black in protest against demonetisation."There is nothing to say about leaders and political parties who have splattered themselves with ink... turning their DP black... this is shameful," Supriyo said here at an event.Trinamool Congress supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had on Monday turned her Twitter display picture black and instructed her party to do so as well."I have heard there were clashes today (Wednesday) in the city. This is extremely shameful. I feel apart from political purpose, they have no economic purpose," he told the media on the sidelines of a programme."Didi had in advance decided to create a ruckus on November 8 and the BJP will tackle it."He reiterated that there are hiccups when one takes a big step but the currency exercise will have benefits in the long run."Those who are making so much noise are actually making it clear that the most damage was incurred by them in demonetisation. This is why demonetisation was done, with the aim to catch corrupt people," he said.

On Banerjee's allegation that demonetisation is a "big scam", Supriyo said: "Didi is in an angry mood these days. She should take care. I feel her blood pressure has shot up. In political debate one can express themselves with calm. It is not right to use inappropriate language."Asked to comment on her accusation that the BJP indulged in hooliganism, the Minister said: "There is no fact or data to back her claims that the BJP indulges in hooliganism."It has not indulged in violence. She feels the BJP is a disturbing force because the party is creating a disturbance in her mind because BJP's vote share has increased."On former Trinamool leader Mukul Roy, whose name came up in the Narada sting scam, joining the BJP, he said: "As the investigation is going on everyone is innocent until proven guilty."Law will be in its own place. Allegations will be in their own place. Politics is separate. There is nothing wrong if we bring in people who can contribute to strengthening the organisation."
