Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that India's greatest strength lies in its ordinary-looking yet extraordinary citizens, and these citizens are the true architects of the nation's destiny. He said that they are the biggest force behind the vision of a developed India.
The Chief Minister was addressing a gathering after honouring individuals associated with public service during a special screening of the Hindi film Bharat Bhagya Vidhata in Chandigarh.On the occasion, he also announced that the film would be made tax-free in Haryana.
Among those present were the Chief Minister's wife, Smt. Suman Saini; Member of Parliament and actress Kangana Ranaut; Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Sh. Vipul Goel; Agriculture Minister of Haryana Sh. Shyam Singh Rana; Member of Parliament Smt. Rekha Sharma; MLAs Shakti Rani Sharma, Randhir Singh Panihar and Satpal Jamba, along with several other dignitaries.
During the event, Dr. Ravinder Singh (MD Anaesthesia and Critical Care), Dr. Harpinder Kaur (Additional Senior Medical Officer), Smt. Mehak (Nursing Officer), Smt. Sandhya Kapoor (Nursing Officer), Woman Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Shivani, Smt. Shashi (Best Worker), Smt. Gurjeet (Best Assistant), Ms. Anjali (B.Sc. Nursing Student), and Sh. Balwan Singh (Leading Fireman) were honoured for their outstanding public service.
Among the officials present were Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Sh. Arun Kumar Gupta, Home Secretary Sh. Sudhir Rajpal, Financial Commissioner Revenue and Disaster Management Dr. Sumita Misra, Additional Director of the Information, Public Relations and Languages Department Captain Manish Kumar Lohan, and several other senior officers.
After watching the film Bharat Bhagya Vidhata, Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini told the media that the real strength of the country lies not only in its government or armed forces, but in the character, courage and spirit of service of its ordinary citizens.
Appreciating the film, which is based on the backdrop of the 26/11 Mumbai terrorist attacks, the Chief Minister said that it is a powerful story of courage, compassion, duty and humanity that touches the heart of every Indian. He said that when terror and fear gripped the nation, several brave individuals risked their own lives to protect others.
The Chief Minister said that society often celebrates heroes who appear on public platforms, but doctors, nurses, police personnel, security forces and social workers who quietly perform their duties without expecting recognition are the true strength of the nation.
Whenever a crisis arises, these individuals are the first to step forward in defence of humanity.Recalling the COVID-19 pandemic, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that healthcare workers stayed away from their families and worked tirelessly day and night, proving that service is the highest form of duty.
Remarkable Example of Women’s Power and Haryana’s Transformation
The Chief Minister specially praised the portrayal of women’s strength in the film. He said that Indian women are not only the backbone of families but also the greatest force in society, capable of transforming compassion into duty during times of crisis.Praising the leadership of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi, he said that initiatives such as Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao have significantly increased women's participation in various sectors.
He proudly noted that Haryana, once known for challenges related to gender imbalance, has today earned national recognition due to the remarkable achievements of its daughters in science, sports, defence and education. He said this transformation reflects not only effective government policies but also a positive change in societal mindset.
Decisive Fight Against Terrorism
Taking a firm stand on national security, the Chief Minister said that the pain of the 26/11 attacks was not limited to Mumbai but was the pain of the entire nation. India lost innocent citizens and brave security personnel, yet refused to bow before terrorism.
He asserted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi, India does not compromise on its security and sovereignty. He said with pride, "Today, India is fighting a decisive battle against terrorism, and India now strikes terrorists in their own dens. Operation Sindoor is the latest and most vivid example of this resolve."
Cinema as a Guide to Society
Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that cinema is not merely a medium of entertainment but also a mirror and guide for society. When stories of unsung heroes and lesser-known chapters of history are brought to light, they become a source of inspiration for future generations.He paid tribute to farmers who feed the nation, soldiers who protect its borders, teachers who shape the future, sanitation workers, and every section of society contributing to nation-building.
The Chief Minister called upon all citizens to work collectively towards realizing Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi’s vision of a Viksit Bharat (Developed India) by 2047. He expressed confidence that by placing national interest above all else and through united efforts, the 140 crore citizens of India would successfully achieve this goal.
