Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan today chaired a meeting of officers and members of Anjuman-e-Imamia Committee Chanderkote to review arrangements for the smooth observance of the ensuing Muharram-ul-Haram.
A detailed discussion was held on various arrangements, including uninterrupted power and water supply, road connectivity, ration distribution, sanitation, street lighting, healthcare facilities, security and traffic management. The Deputy Commissioner directed all departments concerned to put requisite arrangements in place well in advance and ensure seamless coordination during the observance of Muharram.
He specifically directed Block Development Officer Ramban and Chief Executive Officer Municipal Council Ramban to maintain cleanliness and sanitation in and around Imambargah Chanderkote. The Police and Traffic Departments were asked to make foolproof security and traffic management arrangements to facilitate the smooth conduct of religious gatherings and processions.
Among those present were Additional Deputy Commissioner Varunjeet Singh Charak, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Shokat Hayat Mattoo, Assistant Commissioner (Development) Sheraz Ahmed, Chief Medical Officer Dr Kamal Zadu, Executive Engineers of Jal Shakti, Assistant Director Fire and Emergency Services, Chief Executive Officer Municipal Council Ramban, representatives of religious organisations and other officers concerned.
