Haryana Energy Minister, nil Vij has taken cognisance of the disruption caused to the power distribution system due to the recent storm and strong winds across the state. He has directed officers to restore electricity supply in all affected areas on a war footing and ensure that relief reaches consumers in the shortest possible time.

He said that the department has launched a large-scale special drive to normalise the power system at the earliest.Sh. Vij said that due to the severe storm and high winds, a total of 13,277 electricity poles were damaged or uprooted in various districts of the state.

These include 620 employees of UHBVN and 932 employees and technical staff of DHBVN, who are working day and night in the field to repair power lines, transformers, and other electrical infrastructure. The Energy Minister said that the storm affected electricity supply in 233 villages across the state, including 32 villages under UHBVN and 201 villages under DHBVN.

Similarly, 842 feeders were impacted, comprising 458 feeders of UHBVN and 384 feeders of DHBVN. Sh.
