Under the anti-dengue campaign being carried out as per the directions of the Punjab Government and Health & Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh, teams of the Health Department conducted a mass dengue survey in Kharar city under the leadership of Civil Surgeon Dr. Sangeeta Jain. During the survey, health workers visited households to inspect for dengue mosquito larvae and educated residents about preventive measures against dengue.
Senior Medical Officer Dr. Preet Mohan Singh Khurana said that public participation is crucial for the prevention and control of dengue. He explained that the dengue mosquito breeds in clean and stagnant water; therefore, it is the responsibility of every citizen to ensure that water does not accumulate in their homes, shops, or surrounding areas.
He urged residents to observe a weekly “Dry Day,” regularly clean coolers and other water containers, and immediately contact a government health institution if they experience fever.During the survey, teams led by Health Supervisors Davinder Singh and Avtar Singh, along with Multipurpose Health Workers Manpreet Singh, Baljinder Singh, Jagdeep Singh, Gurbachan Singh, Rohit Kumar, and other Health Department staff, inspected houses, commercial establishments, and public places.
The teams identified potential dengue breeding sites and educated people about necessary precautions to prevent mosquito breeding.The Health Department appealed to the public to cooperate in making Kharar dengue-free and to maintain cleanliness and a healthy environment in their surroundings.
