Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Shahzad Alam, today visited District Drug De-addiction Centre (DDAC) Kulgam and interacted with the patients currently admitted at the centre, recovered clients, and their family members. During the visit, the DC also reviewed the services being provided at the centre for rehabilitation and recovery of individuals affected by substance abuse.
On the occasion he also distributed awards among the recovered patients in recognition of their commitment to recovery and their inspiring progress. It was informed that a total of 20 patients are currently admitted at DDAC Kulgam and are receiving treatment and rehabilitation services.
It was shared that DDAC Kulgam has treated nearly 768 patients from various districts across Jammu and Kashmir. The centre has conducted more than 4,500 individual counselling sessions and over 3,000 family counselling sessions, providing continuous psychosocial support to patients and their families.
In addition, DDAC Kulgam has organized series of awareness programmes aimed at educating the public about the harmful effects of substance abuse and promoting a drug-free society. The DC was accompanied by Tehsildar Kulgam, DSWO and other officers.
