Reacting strongly to Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s statement on two consecutive bomb blasts in Punjab, former Deputy Chief Minister and Member of Parliament Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa said that such a statement is extremely  shameful and shocking for someone holding the Home portfolio. By calling it a BJP conspiracy, CM Mann is trying to evade responsibility.

He has already admitted that he and his government have completely failed in maintaining law and order. On the other hand, contradicting the CM’s statement, his own DGP Gaurav Yadav has pointed to a Pakistan connection behind these blasts.

This, Randhawa said, proves that CM Mann is not serious about Punjab. He is not fit to continue as Home Minister and lacks coordination with police officials. MP Randhawa further stated that CM Mann has made very serious allegations against the BJP-led central government, claiming that such bomb blasts are orchestrated in states going to elections.

He said the central government and the Union Home Ministry should respond—whether there is indeed any role of the Centre or BJP behind these blasts. He questioned whether the FIRs in these cases would name the central government, or if this is merely political drama.

He also asked the CM to explain the blast that occurred on a railway track. If BJP is actually trying to disturb peace in Punjab ahead of elections, it is a very alarming situation for the people of the state.

Randhawa emphasized that maintaining law and order is a state subject, not the Centre’s responsibility. Instead of strengthening internal security and vigilance, the CM has started blaming the Centre.

He accused CM Mann of pushing Punjab toward ruin and said people may have to ensure their own safety, as the government has failed in maintaining law and order. He also took a dig at the CM’s “Shukrana Yatra,” asking whether it is meant to atone for past mistakes or seek forgiveness for new ones.
