Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring today questioned the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and the Aam Aadmi Party national convener Arvind Kerjiwal about denying justice in the sacrilege cases even after four and a half years of the completion of their government’s term. The PCC president reminded the AAP leaders of their “24-hour deadline” they had set before the elections to resolve the case and punish the guilty.

He pointed out the AAP government is at the fag-end of its term left with just six months of its term. He pointed out how the AAP government let off the Akalis and targeted senior Congress leaders with fake cases which were later quashed by the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

“You targeted the Congress leaders for no reasons and let off the Akalis under some hidden understanding”, he reminded the Chief Minister. “You have now started summoning people to create an impression that you are trying to do justice”, he told the AAP leaders, while adding, “people of Punjab have already understood your intentions of not doing anything.

Warring observed that the AAP government had deliberately put the sacrilege issue into the cold storage and had reopened it now only after the Akal Takhat declared Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann ‘Guru Dokhi’. “We have strong reasons to believe that the AAP government is keen to work out a compromise with the Akalis and hence it is trying to build up pressure on its leadership”, he observed, while adding, “otherwise they have no intentions of doing justice in the sacrilege cases and if they had any such intentions, they would have done it long before, within 24 hours”.
