Punjab’s Finance, Planning, Programme Implementation, Taxation & Excise and Transport Minister, Harpal Singh Cheema, today dedicated a Water Works Project constructed at a cost of Rs.1.04 crore to the public at village Khokhar Kalan in the Dirba Assembly constituency. Addressing the gathering, the Cabinet Minister stated that access to clean drinking water is a fundamental right, and the Punjab Government remains firmly committed to ensuring this essential service for every household.

He highlighted that the newly commissioned project will directly benefit around 600 households, providing them with a reliable supply of clean and safe drinking water. Emphasizing the broader impact, Cheema noted that the project will not only address long-standing drinking water concerns but also contribute significantly to improving public health standards in the village.

He added that the government is consistently working towards holistic rural development by strengthening key infrastructure, including water supply, roads, healthcare, and education. The Minister further informed that development works in the Dirba constituency are being expedited and several more public welfare projects are in the pipeline.

He directed the concerned officials to ensure proper upkeep of the water works system and uninterrupted water supply, so that residents do not face any inconvenience. On the occasion, Executive Engineer (EE) Sangrur, SDO, JE, other departmental officials, members of the village panchayat, and prominent local residents were present.
