Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan today chaired a meeting of concerned officers to review the latest progress under PM Surya Ghar- Muft Bijli Yojana. On the occasion, DC stressed upon all the officers and stakeholders to work with added dedication and coordination to ensure saturation of the Surya Ghar Yojana in the district so that people in large are benefitted under the centrally sponsored scheme.

She directed them to intensify the IEC campaign and door to door visits to encourage the households for enrollment under the scheme which will resolve their power supply issues, besides, reducing their electricity bills.

It was given out in the meeting that KPDCL shall ensure coverage of 50% households with solar rooftop in the district within a week’s time. Officers were directed to ensure accomplishment of the targets within the stipulated time frame and were warned about serious action for any laxity shown by them. 

Executive Engineers were directed to monitor the progress of the scheme down to JE level to speed up the overall progress. Earlier, DC got feedback about the latest progress of enrollments under the scheme and directed the officers to gear up the efforts for saturation of the scheme.

The meeting was attended by ADC Kupwara, Gulzar Ahmad; SE KPDCL, ACD, CPO, LDM, Executive Engineers of KPDCL Kupwara/Handwara, District Manager CSC Kupwara, AEEs, JEs, besides vendors were present in the meeting.
