Deputy Commissioner Jammu Dr Rakesh Minhas today chaired a meeting with officers of the Jal Shakti Department and Power Development Department to review the supply of water and power across both rural and urban areas of the district. Among those present were Additional District Development Commissioner Sher Singh, Executive Engineers, Chief Planning Officer Ajaypal Singh, Sub-Divisional Magistrates and other senior officers of the line departments.

The Deputy Commissioner sought an update on the current supply status in view of the peak summer season and increased public demands. He evaluated the repair status of the infrastructure damaged during last year's floods, reviewing its durability against current seasonal challenges.

Dr Minhas also assessed the repair rate of power transformers and the capacity of existing repair facilities. Emphasising the need for seamless interdepartmental coordination, Dr Minhas underlined that administrative synergy is critical to ensuring all challenges in power and water supply are effectively addressed.

He reiterated that all officers concerned must remain available round the clock to attend to public grievances with responsiveness. He further passed directions regarding timely repair of transformers and the emergency supply of water through tankers.
