District Development Commissioner (DDC), Kupwara, Shrikant Suse, today chaired a meeting of the District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC) to review the implementation of Mission YUVA, during which the Committee approved 600 fresh cases under the scheme aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and self-employment among the youth of the district.

The Committee scrutinised applications recommended by the concerned Block Handholding Departments (BHDs) and Small Business Development Units (SBDUs) through the Mission YUVA portal and approved all eligible cases for onward processing by the concerned financial institutions.

Reviewing the status of pending cases, the DDC expressed concern over the slow pace of loan sanctions by banks. He called upon all financial institutions, particularly Jammu & Kashmir Bank, to expedite the sanction and disbursal process to ensure timely credit support to deserving beneficiaries.

The DDC emphasised the need for strict adherence to the scheme guidelines and stressed the importance of enhanced awareness and outreach initiatives to extend the benefits of Mission YUVA to eligible youth, SHGs, MSMEs etc.

During the meeting, he also reviewed progress achieved in onboarding stores and products on the Mission YUVA Seller App and ONDC-linked platforms to facilitate digital market access for local entrepreneurs and progress achieved under the capacity-building component of the mission.

The meeting was attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Handwara; SDM Lolab; Lead District Manager; Cluster Head, Jammu & Kashmir Bank; District Employment Officer; Branch Managers of various banks; representatives of line departments; and other concerned officers.
