Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Pankaj Kumar Sharma today chaired a review meeting regarding the disbursement of compensation to landowners affected by the 4.037-kilometre realignment stretch of National Highway 244 at Kandini, Kishtwar under the ongoing road development project.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the ongoing compensation disbursement process for the affected landowners, which is being carried out expeditiously to ensure that project works continue unhindered. The Deputy Commissioner directed the contractor concerned to accelerate the pace of execution and ensure the timely completion of all project activities.
He also directed Tehsildar Kishtwar Nirbhay Sharma to resolve any issues arising during project execution on-site, in consultation with the affected landowners, to facilitate the smooth progress of the works. The Deputy Commissioner further reviewed the ongoing bituminous works being undertaken by NHIDCL in the Kishtwar Market area.
Stressing the need for adherence to quality benchmarks, he directed NHIDCL to maintain the prescribed quality standards in all ongoing works. Further, NHIDCL was instructed to complete all pending components of the project, including the construction of drains, within the stipulated timelines while ensuring strict quality control and high standards of workmanship.
Among those present were Senior Superintendent of Police Kishtwar Naresh Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Pawan Kotwal, Tehsildar Kishtwar Nirbhay Sharma, other officers concerned and representatives from NHIDCL Kishtwar.
