Rayat Bahra University Honoured the Messiah of Missing Persons, S. Gurcharan Singh, CDTI, Chandigarh during the award ceremony to facilitate the people for their significant contribution towards the society.

Speaking on the occasion, Hon’ble Chancellor S. Gurvinder Singh Bahra stated that his recognition reflects the remarkable and selfless efforts he has made in helping families reunite with their missing loved ones. 

S. Gurcharan Singh, associated with the Chandigarh-based Centre for Detection of Tracing & Investigation, has earned this title due to his dedicated work in locating and recovering missing individuals, often going above and beyond to support families in distress.

Chief Guest, Sh. Avinash Rai Khanna, ex-MP, Rajya Sabha stated that honoring individuals like S. Gurcharan Singh is important because they demonstrate the power of compassion and determination in addressing critical social issues. 

The efforts to locate missing persons often involve emotional, legal, and logistical challenges, and such recognition helps bring attention to the significance of this cause. S. Gurcharan Singh, CDTI, Chandigarh also delivered a talk about the significance of Digital footprints in finding missing persons and sensitizing the attendees about the digital fraud. 

He encouraged everyone to use strong online security practices such as using two-factor authentication, regularly updating passwords and being cautious about sharing personal information and to avoid scams protect digital identities.

While proposing vote of thanks, Prof. Simerjit Kaur, DSW said that this award ceremony speaks volumes about the institution’s commitment to celebrating those who make lasting positive impacts on society, not just through academic or professional achievements, but also through humanitarian actions.
