Making advance preparations to combat mosquito borne diseases like dengue, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sakshi Sawhney has directed the health department, Ludhiana Municipal Corporation (MC) among others to launch extensive drive to check the high risk areas/hotspots of mosquito breeding in the district.
Conducting a meeting at her office in this regard on Wednesday, DC Sawhney has also issued directions to conduct regular awareness drives in the district to apprise the residents about the precautionary steps which can be taken to avoid mosquito breeding in their houses and surroundings.
The steps have been taken after three cases of dengue have been reported in Khanna recently. DC Sawhney said that this is unusual as the dengue cases are normally reported in or after July. However, as the cases have been reported, the health department, MC, BDPOs etc have been directed to make all efforts to combat the disease.
She said that the health department has already been conducting inspections to check mosquito breeding and they have been directed to intensify the drive to check breeding of mosquitoes. Around 100 anti-larvae teams are conducting inspections across the district out of which 18 are working in Ludhiana city areas.
The teams have found dengue larvae at 35 locations in the district as of now. 25 challans have also been issued to the residents in Khanna. DC Sawhney said that the MC has been directed to take up targeted fogging drives in the areas where the mosquito larvae are found. The high risk areas should also be covered under the fogging drive.
The health department has been directed to share the list of high risk areas with the civic body. The department should ensure that all the fogging machines are in good shape so that proper fogging should be done.
Stating that dengue is spread to the residents through the bites 'aedes aegypti' mosquitoes, DC Sawhney appealed the residents to take precautions to avoid mosquito breeding in their houses and surrounding areas. Mosquito breeding is reported at stagnant water and clear water, flower pots, refrigerator, coolers, tyres, bird feeders etc are among the breeding grounds.
She appealed the residents to take precautions, which includes avoiding water stagnation, covering body with proper/appropriate clothing etc. The residents can also adopt the practice of observing every Friday as 'Dry day' wherein the residents should take up cleanliness drives to avoid stagnant water in coolers, pots etc.
DC Sawhney directed that fogging drives should also be taken up in schools/educational institutes and the students should be apprised of the precautions which can be taken to avoid dengue disease like wearing appropriate clothing to cover the body etc. The District Education Officers (DEOs) have also been directed to ensure cleanliness in schools.
The health department officials stated that high fever, headache, joint pains, rash etc are among the symptoms of dengue and the residents should immediately approach the health department if they witness the symptoms. Appealing the concerned officials to involve resident welfare associations (RWA), residents and villagers in the awareness drives, DC Sawhney urged the residents to support the administration in tackling the mosquito borne diseases by keeping their surroundings clean.

ਡੇਂਗੂ ਵਰਗੀਆਂ ਮੱਛਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਬਿਮਾਰੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਨਜਿੱਠਣ ਲਈ ਅਗਾਊਂ ਤਿਆਰੀਆਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਸਾਕਸ਼ੀ ਸਾਹਨੀ ਨੇ ਸਿਹਤ ਵਿਭਾਗ, ਨਗਰ ਨਿਗਮ ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ ਨੂੰ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੱਛਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੈਦਾਵਾਰ ਦੇ ਸੰਭਾਵੀ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ/ਹੌਟਸਪੋਟਸ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਲਈ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਚਲਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਅੱਜ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਫ਼ਤਰ ਵਿਖੇ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨਗੀ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਸਾਹਨੀ ਨੇ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਦੇ ਵਸਨੀਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਮੱਛਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੈਦਾਵਾਰ ਦੀ ਰੋਕਥਾਮ ਲਈ ਵਰਤੀਆਂ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਸਾਵਧਾਨੀਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣੂ ਕਰਵਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਯਮਤ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਮੁਹਿੰਮਾਂ ਚਲਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ ਵੀ ਜਾਰੀ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ।
ਖੰਨਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਹਾਲ ਹੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਡੇਂਗੂ ਦੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਉਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਇਹ ਕਦਮ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਸਾਹਨੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਦਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਾ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਡੇਂਗੂ ਦੇ ਕੇਸ ਆਮ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਜੁਲਾਈ ਜਾਂ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਏ ਹਨ, ਸਿਹਤ ਵਿਭਾਗ, ਨਿਗਮ ਅਤੇ ਬੀ.ਡੀ.ਪੀ.ਓਜ਼ ਆਦਿ ਨੂੰ ਬਿਮਾਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਨਜਿੱਠਣ ਲਈ ਸਾਰੇ ਯਤਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਿਹਤ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਮੱਛਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੈਦਾਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਕਣ ਲਈ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੱਛਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੈਦਾਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਕਣ ਲਈ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਤੇਜ਼ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਭਰ ਵਿੱਚ 100 ਦੇ ਕਰੀਬ ਐਂਟੀ ਲਾਰਵਾ ਟੀਮਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਜਾਂਚ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 18 ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਟੀਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੁਣ ਤੱਕ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ 35 ਥਾਵਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਡੇਂਗੂ ਦਾ ਲਾਰਵਾ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਖੰਨਾ ਵਿੱਚ 25 ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਲਾਨ ਵੀ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਸਾਹਨੀ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਨਗਰ ਨਿਗਮ ਨੂੰ ਹਦਾਇਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਲਾਕਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੱਛਰ ਦੇ ਲਾਰਵੇ ਪਾਏ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਫੌਗਿੰਗ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇ। ਸੰਭਾਵੀ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਫੋਗਿੰਗ ਡਰਾਈਵ ਦੇ ਤਹਿਤ ਕਵਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਿਹਤ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੂੰ ਹਾਈ ਰਿਸਕ ਵਾਲੇ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੂਚੀ ਨਗਰ ਨਿਗਮ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝੀ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਫੌਗਿੰਗ ਮਸ਼ੀਨਾਂ ਠੀਕ ਹਾਲਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਣ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਫੌਗਿੰਗ ਸਹੀ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਕਰਵਾਈ ਜਾਵੇ।
ਡੇਂਗੂ ਏਡੀਜ਼ ਅਜਿਪਟੀ਼ ਮੱਛਰ ਦੇ ਕੱਟਣ ਨਾਲ ਫੈਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੱਸਦਿਆਂ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਨੇ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਆਸ-ਪਾਸ ਦੇ ਇਲਾਕਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੱਛਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੈਦਾਵਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਣ ਲਈ ਸਾਵਧਾਨੀਆਂ ਵਰਤਣ। ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੱਛਰ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਣ ਦੀ ਸੂਚਨਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਫ਼ ਪਾਣੀ, ਗਮਲੇ, ਫਰਿੱਜ ਦੀਆਂ ਟਰੇਆਂ, ਕੂਲਰ, ਟਾਇਰ, ਬਰਡ ਫੀਡਰ ਆਦਿ ਪ੍ਰਜਨਨ ਸਥਾਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਹਨ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਲਾਕਾ ਨਿਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਵਧਾਨੀ ਵਰਤਣ ਦੀ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਖੜੋਤ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਣ, ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਬਾਹਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਕਪੜੇ ਪਾਉਣਾ ਆਦਿ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ। ਵਸਨੀਕ ਹਰ ਸ਼ੁੱਕਰਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ 'ਡਰਾਈ ਡੇਅ' ਵਜੋਂ ਮਨਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਅਭਿਆਸ ਵੀ ਅਪਣਾ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੂਲਰਾਂ, ਬਰਤਨਾਂ ਆਦਿ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਣੀ ਖੜੋਤ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਣ ਲਈ ਸਫ਼ਾਈ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਚਲਾਉਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਸਾਹਨੀ ਨੇ ਹਦਾਇਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਸਕੂਲਾਂ/ਵਿਦਿਅਕ ਸੰਸਥਾਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਫੋਗਿੰਗ ਡਰਾਈਵ ਵੀ ਚਲਾਈ ਜਾਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਡੇਂਗੂ ਦੀ ਬਿਮਾਰੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਣ ਲਈ ਵਰਤੀਆਂ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਸਾਵਧਾਨੀਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣੂ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਢੱਕਣ ਲਈ ਢੁਕਵੇਂ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਪਾਉਣੇ ਆਦਿ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ. ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਨੂੰ ਸਕੂਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਫ਼-ਸਫ਼ਾਈ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਵੀ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ।
ਸਿਹਤ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਤੇਜ਼ ਬੁਖਾਰ, ਸਿਰਦਰਦ, ਜੋੜਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਰਦ, ਧੱਫੜ ਆਦਿ ਡੇਂਗੂ ਦੇ ਲੱਛਣਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਲੱਛਣ ਦਿਖਾਈ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਸਿਹਤ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਪਰਕ ਕਰਨ। ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਸਾਹਨੀ ਨੇ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੈਜ਼ੀਡੈਂਟ ਵੈਲਫੇਅਰ ਐਸੋਸੀਏਸ਼ਨਾਂ (ਆਰ.ਡਬਲਯੂ.ਏ.), ਨਿਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਅਪੀਲ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੀ ਸਫਾਈ ਰੱਖ ਕੇ ਮੱਛਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਬਿਮਾਰੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਨਜਿੱਠਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਦਾ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਕਰਨ।
