Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney on Tuesday visited various grain markets such as Lalton and Jodhan, falling under Ludhiana west sub-division, for effective monitoring of the ongoing procurement of the wheat crop.
During the visit, Sawhney had detailed interactions with the officers of the procurement agencies regarding the ongoing procurement and lifting of the grains from the mandis. She also gave the directions to the officers/ officials to ensure that smooth and hassle free procurement of the wheat takes place during this Rabi season.
The Deputy Commissioner had also held parleys with the farmers present in the mandis to enquire about the ongoing procurement operations. The farmers expressed complete satisfaction over the arrangements made by the administration for procurement of their harvest.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner reiterated the firm commitment of the administration to lift each and every single grain from the mandis and said that procurement operations in the district were going on very smoothly.

ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਸਾਕਸ਼ੀ ਸਾਹਨੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ ਪੱਛਮੀ ਸਬ-ਡਵੀਜ਼ਨ ਅਧੀਨ ਆਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਲਲਤੋਂ ਅਤੇ ਜੋਧਾਂ ਵਰਗੀਆਂ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਅਨਾਜ ਮੰਡੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਦੌਰਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਕਣਕ ਦੀ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੀ ਖਰੀਦ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਦਾ ਜਾਇਜਾ ਲਿਆ। ਦੌਰੇ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਸਾਹਨੀ ਨੇ ਮੰਡੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਅਨਾਜ ਦੀ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੀ ਖਰੀਦ ਅਤੇ ਲਿਫਟਿੰਗ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਖਰੀਦ ਏਜੰਸੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਸਥਾਰਪੂਰਵਕ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ/ਕਰਮਚਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਾੜੀ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਸੀਜ਼ਨ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਕਣਕ ਦੀ ਸੁਚਾਰੂ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਰਵਿਘਨ ਖਰੀਦ ਨੂੰ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਹਦਾਇਤਾਂ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ।
ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਨੇ ਮੰਡੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵੀ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਕਰਕੇ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੇ ਖਰੀਦ ਕਾਰਜਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਲਈ। ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਫ਼ਸਲ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਰੀਦ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕੀਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਸੱਲੀ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਵਾ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਨੇ ਮੰਡੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ-ਇੱਕ ਦਾਣਾ ਚੁੱਕਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਦੀ ਦ੍ਰਿੜ ਵਚਨਬੱਧਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਹਰਾਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਖਰੀਦ ਕਾਰਜ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਸੁਚਾਰੂ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
