In order to ensure free and fair polling in the Lok Sabha-2024 elections, District Election Officer (DEO)-cum- Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sakshi Sawhney on Wednesday directed the officials to complete the process of identifying critical polling stations in the district.
Presiding over a meeting with Assistant Returning Officers (ARO) and concerned police officials of the assembly constituencies, Sawhney told the officials to give topmost priority to completion of this exercise and directed them to send the reports after field visits and considering all facts within this week.
The reports regarding the critical polling stations is required to make proper security arrangements during the elections.She also added that the reports about bad characters, trouble mongers etc should also be prepared so that close vigil can be kept on their activities.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Major Amit Sareen, AROs Rupinder Pal Singh, Ankur Mahindroo, Ojasvi Alankar, Paramdeep Singh, Chetan Bunger, Navneet Bal, Ankur Mahindroo among others were present in the meeting.

ਲੋਕ ਸਭਾ ਚੋਣਾਂ-2024 ਦੌਰਾਨ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਰਪੱਖ ਮਤਦਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਚੋਣ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ-ਕਮ-ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਸਾਕਸ਼ੀ ਸਾਹਨੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੰਵੇਦਨਸ਼ੀਲ ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਸਟੇਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਨਾਖਤ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਕੰਮਲ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਹਲਕਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਹਾਇਕ ਰਿਟਰਨਿੰਗ ਅਫ਼ਸਰਾਂ (ਏ.ਆਰ.ਓ) ਅਤੇ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨਗੀ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਚੋਣ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਸਾਹਨੀ ਨੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਕੰਮਲ ਕਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਮੁੱਖ ਤਰਜੀਹ ਦੇਣ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਦਾਇਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਇਸ ਹਫ਼ਤੇ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ-ਅੰਦਰ ਜਮੀਨੀ ਪੱਧਰ 'ਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਤੱਥਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕੇ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਭੇਜਣ। ਚੋਣਾਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਦੇ ਪੁਖਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਸੰਵੇਦਨਸ਼ੀਲ ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਸਟੇਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਰਿਪੋਰਟਾਂ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਮਾੜੇ ਚਰਿੱਤਰ, ਸੰਭਾਵੀ ਮਾਹੌਲ ਖਰਾਬ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਆਦਿ ਬਾਰੇ ਰਿਪੋਰਟਾਂ ਵੀ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਜਾਣ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ 'ਤੇ ਤਿੱਖੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਰੱਖੀ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ। ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਧੀਕ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਮੇਜਰ ਅਮਿਤ ਸਰੀਨ, ਏ.ਆਰ.ਓਜ਼ ਰੁਪਿੰਦਰ ਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ, ਅੰਕੁਰ ਮਹਿੰਦਰੂ, ਓਜਸਵੀ ਅਲੰਕਾਰ, ਪਰਮਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ, ਚੇਤਨ ਬੰਗੜ, ਨਵਨੀਤ ਬੱਲ, ਅੰਕੁਰ ਮਹਿੰਦਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਹੋਰ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਵੀ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਸਨ।
