The Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Electoral Officer, Mrs Aashikaa Jain today visited the Sports Complex, Sector-78 Mohali, identified for setting up of Strong Room and Dispatch Centre for EVMs for 53-SAS Nagar constituency. She said that as election preparedness, the strong rooms and dispatch centres are identified in each constituency of the district SAS Nagar so that the polling parties who have to depart for Poll Duty in a particular constituency should get EVMs and other election-related materials under the single roof.
The District Election Officer while reviewing the site proposed for the Strong Room and Dispatch Centre at Sports Complex Mohali, emphasized foolproof security arrangements for safeguarding the EVMs to be stored here between April 30 to May 31, the day of dispatching of polling parties. She said that the EVM Machines with VVPATs would be kept here under CCTV, Paramilitary and Police security after conducting the randomization.
In 112-Derabassi, the Government College, Derabassi would be prepared as a strong room and dispatch centre while in 52-Kharar, the Government Polytechnic, Khooni Mjara has been identified as a strong room and dispatch centre. She was accompanied by SDM-cum-ARO, Depankar Garg, DSP (D) Rajesh Hastir and District Sports Officer, Harpinder Singh. She categorically instructed that the coaching part of the sportspersons should not be hampered during these days.

ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ-ਕਮ-ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਚੋਣ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ, ਸ੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਆਸ਼ਿਕਾ ਜੈਨ ਨੇ ਅੱਜ ਸਪੋਰਟਸ ਕੰਪਲੈਕਸ, ਸੈਕਟਰ-78 ਮੁਹਾਲੀ ਦਾ ਦੌਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ 53-ਐਸ.ਏ.ਐਸ.ਨਗਰ ਹਲਕੇ ਲਈ ਈ.ਵੀ.ਐਮਜ਼ ਲਈ ਸਟਰਾਂਗ ਰੂਮ ਅਤੇ ਡਿਸਪੈਚ ਸੈਂਟਰ ਸਥਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਪਛਾਣ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਚੋਣ ਤਿਆਰੀਆਂ ਵਜੋਂ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਐਸ.ਏ.ਐਸ.ਨਗਰ ਦੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਹਲਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਟਰਾਂਗ ਰੂਮਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਡਿਸਪੈਚ ਸੈਂਟਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਨਾਖਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਪਾਰਟੀਆਂ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਹਲਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਡਿਊਟੀ ਲਈ ਰਵਾਨਾ ਹੋਣਾ ਹੈ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਈ.ਵੀ.ਐਮਜ਼ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਚੋਣ ਸਮੱਗਰੀ ਇੱਕ ਹੀ ਛੱਤ ਥੱਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਸਕੇ।
ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਚੋਣ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਨੇ ਸਪੋਰਟਸ ਕੰਪਲੈਕਸ ਮੁਹਾਲੀ ਵਿਖੇ ਸਟਰਾਂਗ ਰੂਮ ਅਤੇ ਡਿਸਪੈਚ ਸੈਂਟਰ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਸਤਾਵਿਤ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਦਾ ਜਾਇਜ਼ਾ ਲੈਂਦਿਆਂ ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਪਾਰਟੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਰਵਾਨਾ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਿਨ 30 ਅਪ੍ਰੈਲ ਤੋਂ 31 ਮਈ ਤੱਕ ਇੱਥੇ ਸਟੋਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਈ.ਵੀ.ਐਮਜ਼ ਦੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਲਈ ਪੁਖਤਾ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਵੀ.ਵੀ.ਪੀ.ਏ.ਟੀ. ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਈ.ਵੀ.ਐਮ. ਮਸ਼ੀਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੇਤਰਤੀਬੇ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਇੱਥੇ ਸੀਸੀਟੀਵੀ, ਅਰਧ ਸੈਨਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੇਠ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
112-ਡੇਰਾਬੱਸੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਡੇਰਾਬੱਸੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਟਰਾਂਗ ਰੂਮ ਅਤੇ ਡਿਸਪੈਚ ਸੈਂਟਰ ਵਜੋਂ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਜਦਕਿ 52-ਖਰੜ ਲਈ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਪੋਲੀਟੈਕਨਿਕ, ਖੂਨੀ ਮਾਜਰਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਟਰਾਂਗ ਰੂਮ ਅਤੇ ਡਿਸਪੈਚ ਸੈਂਟਰ ਵਜੋਂ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਐਸ.ਡੀ.ਐਮ.-ਕਮ-ਏ.ਆਰ.ਓ. ਦੀਪਾਂਕਰ ਗਰਗ, ਡੀ.ਐਸ.ਪੀ (ਡੀ) ਰਾਜੇਸ਼ ਹਸਤੀਰ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਖੇਡ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਹਰਪਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਵੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਸਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਪੱਸ਼ਟ ਹਦਾਇਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਖਿਡਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਕੋਚਿੰਗ ਦੇ ਹਿੱਸੇ ਵਿਚ ਕੋਈ ਰੁਕਾਵਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ।
