SAS Nagar to have Three Youth Managed Booths besides Three Pink and Three Pwd Pollings Booths Another 22 Model Polling Booths for Facilitating the Voters Women Staff to Handle Pink Polling Booths while PwD Staff for PwD Booth SAS Nagar, April 3, 2024: Taking a new initiative to encourage the participation of the young, particularly first-time voters in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections-2024, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar to have three youth-managed polling booths in the district, the first of its kind in the history of elections.
Divulging the details, the Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Electoral Officer, Mrs Aashika Jain said that as per the directions of the Election Commission of India, to boost the first-time and young voters, each assembly segment of District Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar to have a polling booth with the deployment of youngest staff to manage the polling process.
The district administration has identified these booths as Government Elementary School Shingariwala (booth no. 9) in 52-Kharar, Millennium School, Phase-5, Mohali (booth no. 158) in 53-SAS Nagar and ATS Valley School, Derabassi (booth no. 167) in 112-Derabassi. Apart from that district will also have three Pink booths managed by female staff at Shemrock Wonders School, Jamuna Apartment Khanpur in Kharar, Governm, ent Senior Secondary School, Phase 3B1, Mohali and Government Senior Secondary School, Derabassi.
She said that the entire staff in such polling booths, including the polling staff, police and security personnel, would be women. These polling booths would be distinguished by their pink design, including pink decorative material and table covers. She said that this would also boost the confidence of the women polling staff thereby encouraging them to perform their duty far more diligently and efficiently besides sending a message among the women voters to participate in the voting process in large numbers.
To boost the participation of Diviyang (PwD) voters, the district would also have three Divyang polling booths at Government Elementry School, Dussehra Ground Kharar, Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Sohana in Mohali and Bhartiya Public Senior Secondary School in Derabassi which would be managed by Persons with Disability (PWD) staff.
Mrs Jain also disclosed that apart from the above distinctive booths, another 22 Model Polling Booths including 09 in Kharar, 07 in SAS Nagar and 06 in Derabassi would also come up in the district on June 01, 2024, to accord a red carpet welcome to the electors on the polling day. She said that all the above and Model polling booths will be decorated with flowers, rangoli, queue management, provision of basic facilities of drinking water, medical aid, toilets, volunteers for assistance and Creches etc.

ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਲੋਕ ਸਭਾ ਚੋਣਾਂ-2024 ਵਿੱਚ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਖਾਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵਾਰ ਵੋਟ ਪਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਭਾਗੀਦਾਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਨਵੀਂ ਪਹਿਲਕਦਮੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ, ਸਾਹਿਬਜ਼ਾਦਾ ਅਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨਗਰ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਿੰਨ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਸਟਾਫ਼ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸੰਚਾਲਿਤ ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਬੂਥ ਬਣਾਏ ਜਾਣਗੇ, ਜੋ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੀ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੀ ਮਿਸਾਲ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ। ਇਸ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਵਧੇਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ-ਕਮ-ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਚੋਣ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਸ੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਆਸ਼ਿਕਾ ਜੈਨ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਚੋਣ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਹਦਾਇਤਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵਾਰ ਬਣੇ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੁਲਾਰਾ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਸਾਹਿਬਜ਼ਾਦਾ ਅਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨਗਰ ਦੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਹਲਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਘੱਟ ਉਮਰ ਦੇ ਸਟਾਫ ਦੀ ਤਾਇਨਾਤੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਇੱਕ-ਇੱਕ ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਬੂਥ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਨੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੂਥਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਛਾਣ 52-ਖਰੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਐਲੀਮੈਂਟਰੀ ਸਕੂਲ ਸ਼ਿੰਗਾਰੀਵਾਲਾ (ਬੂਥ ਨੰਬਰ 9), ਮਿਲੇਨੀਅਮ ਸਕੂਲ, ਫੇਜ਼-5, ਮੁਹਾਲੀ (ਬੂਥ ਨੰ. 158) 53-ਐਸ ਏ ਐਸ ਨਗਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਤੇ ਏ.ਟੀ.ਐਸ. ਵੈਲੀ ਸਕੂਲ ਡੇਰਾਬੱਸੀ (ਬੂਥ ਨੰ: 167) 112-ਡੇਰਾਬੱਸੀ ਵਜੋਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ੈਮਰੌਕ ਵੰਡਰਜ਼ ਸਕੂਲ, ਜਮੁਨਾ ਅਪਾਰਟਮੈਂਟ ਖਾਨਪੁਰ, ਖਰੜ, ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਸੈਕੰਡਰੀ ਸਕੂਲ, ਫੇਜ਼ 3ਬੀ1, ਮੁਹਾਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਸੈਕੰਡਰੀ ਸਕੂਲ, ਡੇਰਾਬੱਸੀ ਵਿਖੇ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਸਟਾਫ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਿਤ ਤਿੰਨ ਪਿੰਕ ਬੂਥ ਵੀ ਹੋਣਗੇ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਬੂਥਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਸਟਾਫ਼, ਪੁਲਿਸ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਮਚਾਰੀਆਂ ਸਮੇਤ ਸਮੁੱਚਾ ਸਟਾਫ਼ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਬੂਥਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਗੁਲਾਬੀ ਡਿਜ਼ਾਈਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਵੱਖਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਲਾਬੀ ਸਜਾਵਟੀ ਸਮੱਗਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਟੇਬਲ ਕਵਰ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਸਟਾਫ਼ ਦਾ ਆਤਮ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਵੀ ਵਧੇਗਾ ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਡਿਊਟੀ ਹੋਰ ਤਨਦੇਹੀ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਸ਼ਲਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਨਿਭਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਡੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੋਟਿੰਗ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਗ ਲੈਣ ਦਾ ਸੁਨੇਹਾ ਵੀ ਮਿਲੇਗਾ।
ਦਿਵਿਆਂਗ (ਪੀ ਡਬਲਿਊ ਡੀ) ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਭਾਗੀਦਾਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਹੁਲਾਰਾ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਐਲੀਮੈਂਟਰੀ ਸਕੂਲ ਦੁਸਹਿਰਾ ਗਰਾਊਂਡ ਖਰੜ, ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਕੰਨਿਆ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਸੈਕੰਡਰੀ ਸਕੂਲ, ਸੋਹਾਣਾ (ਮੁਹਾਲੀ) ਅਤੇ ਡੇਰਾਬੱਸੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਪਬਲਿਕ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਸੈਕੰਡਰੀ ਸਕੂਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਿੰਨ ਦਿਵਿਆਂਗ ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਬੂਥ ਵੀ ਬਣਾਏ ਜਾਣਗੇ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਨ ਦਿਵਿਆਂਗ ਸਟਾਫ਼ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਸ਼੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਜੈਨ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਖੁਲਾਸਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਉਪਰੋਕਤ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਬੂਥਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ 01 ਜੂਨ, 2024 ਨੂੰ ਮਤਦਾਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਖਰੜ ਵਿੱਚ 09, ਐਸ.ਏ.ਐਸ. ਨਗਰ ਵਿੱਚ 07 ਅਤੇ ਡੇਰਾਬੱਸੀ ਵਿੱਚ 06 ਬੂਥਾਂ ਸਮੇਤ 22 ਹੋਰ ਮਾਡਲ ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਬੂਥਾਂ ਦਾ ਰੈੱਡ ਕਾਰਪੇਟ ਵਿਛਾ ਕੇ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
