Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, while addressing a massive public meeting at Una today, announced to conduct a survey for the construction of bypass for Una town. He also announced drainage scheme for Una town, Santoshgarh, Sanoli, Veenebaal, Poona, Malukpur and Majra village, expansion of Lift Irrigation Scheme, Bhavaur Sahib and construction of sewage scheme for Lower Araniala, Malahat, Rampur and Rakkar adjacent to the district headquarters.

The previous BJP government announced to build PGI satellite centre at Una but failed to take it forward, said the Chief Minister, adding that  the present government ensured environmental clearance for this project within a week and started the construction work of the same.

He reiterated that Himachal Pradesh will become self-reliant in next four years.

It was a historic moment for Hamirpur parliamentary constituency as both Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister represent the State from this area, he said.  "We have faced the challenges together and also overcame them with mutual efforts" said he.

The state was under 75 thousand crore debt and the government brought a white paper in the Assembly on the financial mismanagement of the previous government presented by the Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri.

During the tenure of the previous BJP government, the recruitment of JOA (IT) remained stalled. We pursued the cases in the Supreme Court in the favour of the State and the results of post codes 817 and 939 will be declared soon, said Sh. Sukhu.

During the BJP regime the Staff Selection Commission, Hamirpur, became a hub of corruption wherein question papers were sold. He alleged that for four years the BJP government just remained a mute spectator on all irregularities happening within the State.

We are going to constitute a new body named as a State Selection Commission, which will work in transparent manner ensuring fair-play in job selection criteria of youth, he remarked.  He said that 10 thousand posts would be filled in the Jal Shakti Department.

Besides, seven thousand teachers, two thousand forest guards and 1226 police posts were going to be filled in this fiscal for which the process has been started.  The women will be provided 30 per cent reservation in police recruitment, he said.

From the next academic session, English language will be introduced in all government schools from class one and clusters of schools within a radius of 300 meters will be formed, besides ensuring that all the posts of teachers were filled.

We have fulfilled three out of ten guarantees. The first phase of Rs 680 crore  Rajiv Gandhi Self-Employment Start-up Scheme has been started. Under the scheme, 50 percent subsidy will be provided to youth on purchase of e-taxi. Apart from this, soon we are going to start a scheme of 40 percent subsidy to the youth on the installation of solar projects ranging from 100 KW to 1 MW, said Sh. Sukhu.

The Chief Minister said 16 thousand houses were damaged in Himachal Pradesh due to the disaster caused by heavy rains and landslides recently. We provided special package of  Rs 4500 crore to the disaster affected and enhanced the relief norms.

The compensation for a completely damaged house has been increased five and a half times to Rs 7 lakh from Rs 1.30 lakh. Free electricity, ration, LPG was also being provided to the disaster affected, besides cement bag at Rs 280. The Chief Minister also elaborated about the Sukh Aashray Yojna and other flagship schemes being implemented in the State.
