Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today inaugurated Himachal's first outdoor escalators at the Hanuman temple Jakhu in Shimla at a height of 2455 mts. above the sea level. The Project worth Rs. 7.94 crore have a carrying capacity of 6000 person per hour and installed by the Schindler India.
Chief Minister said that the four escalators would facilitate the people visiting the temple from the parking lot. The escalators are built with double drive with safety brakes on both the sides of the escalators for the safety of passengers. Paintings depicting storyline of Ramayana has been installed at each level of the escalators.
The escalators have a combination of materials on the facade of louvers & polycarbonate sheets that allows ample amount of natural light to enter the escalators and ACP sheets on the lower part of the escalators have been used for good ventilation.
Moreover, LED spot lights have been installed to beautify the experience of pilgrims using the escalators.The Chief Minister said that Jakhu temple was a main religious attraction for the visitors and steps will be taken to provide other basic facilities as well. He also paid obeisance at Hanuman Temple.

Nazeem, DC Shimla Anupam Kashyap SP Shimla Sanjeev Gandhi and Commissioner MC Bhupinder Atri were also present on the occasion amongst others.

प्रतिघंटा 6 हजार श्रद्धालु कर पाएंगे सफर

मुख्यमंत्री ठाकुर सुखविंदर सिंह सुक्खू ने आज यहां जाखू स्थित हनुमान मंदिर में प्रदेश के पहले आउटडोर एस्कलेटर्स का शुभारम्भ किया। समुद्रतल से 2455 मीटर की ऊंचाई पर स्थित प्राचीन हनुमान मंदिर में लोगों की आवाजाही को आरामदायक बनाने के उद्देश्य से नवनिर्मित चार एस्कलेटर्स का निर्माण 7 करोड़ 94 लाख रुपये से शिंडलर इंडिया द्वारा किया गया है। इन एस्कलेटर्स पर अधिकतम 6 हजार श्रद्धालु प्रतिघंटा सफर कर पाएंगे।
मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि इन एस्कलेटर्स से श्रद्धालुओं को हनुमान मंदिर के सुगम दर्शन की सुविधा उपलब्ध हुई है। श्रद्धालुओं की सुरक्षा के दृष्टिगत एस्कलेटर्स के दोनों ओर सेफ्टी ब्रेक और एलईडी लाईट्स लगाई गई हैं। मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि प्राचीन जाखू मंदिर श्रद्धालुओं के साथ-साथ शिमला आने वाले पर्यटकों के लिए आकर्षण का मुख्य केंद्र है। प्रदेश सरकार द्वारा इस धार्मिक स्थल पर सभी प्रकार की आधारभूत सुविधाएं उपलब्ध करवाने के प्रयास निरंतर जारी हैं।
