Commending Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab said that this time Diwali of more than 50,000 families of Punjab has become happy thanks to the government jobs continuously given to the youth during the last one and a half years by the Mann government.

Addressing the media at the Chandigarh party headquarters on Wednesday, AAP Punjab spokesperson Ahbaab Grewal said that in the last 18 months, the Mann government has given more than 37 thousand government jobs, means around 23 thousand every year. Whereas, the previous Congress government had given only 56 thousand government jobs in 5 years, means around 11,325 jobs per year.

Apart from this, the Mann government has regularised 12,000 contractual employees. By December 31, 2023, about 9 thousand more employees will be regularised. The salaries and allowances of these employees have also increased three times.

Talking about investment, the AAP leader said that around Rs 1 lakh 17 thousand crore was invested in Punjab during the period 2017 to 2022 of the Congress government. On the other hand, in just 18 months of the Mann government, investments worth Rs 56 thousand crores have been made. He claimed that these figures will increase further in the upcoming days.

With these investments, about 3800 new projects are started in Punjab which will generate about 3 lakh jobs. In the previous governments, Punjabis were only misled in the name of jobs, Captain Amarinder Singh distributed job cards and fooled Punjabis that they would get jobs through those cards, but gave no jobs. We don't go back on our promises, we deliver what we promise.
