Electrical Engineering Department of Government Polytechnic Jammu today organised a seminar on the topic "Emerging Technologies in Solar Energy” and Expansion plan for NISA in the city of Jammu”.Principal Government Polytechnic Jammu, Er. Arun Bangotra  was the chief guest, while Er. Inderjeet Singh, Workshop Superintendent was the guest of honour .

Principal Er. Arun Bangotra highlighted the significance of solar energy and emphasized the need for innovation and usage of solar energy in the present scenario in his opening address.The Guest speaker was Er. Rishab Kumar, Project Manager Technical Advisor, MNRE who spoke on the topic in a very interesting manner with real life examples. 

In his lecture, he distinguished between renewable and nonrenewable sources of energy and further emphasized on usage of solar energy in different types like solar tree, floating solar etc.Continuing the session, he also explained Commercialization and factors Influence Commercialization of solar energy and explained the meaning of NISA. 

Himanshu, Assistant Manager JAKEDA highlighted that the Jammu City has been chosen as a solar city by the Central Government of India.A large gathering of students of the Electrical department attended the seminar. Itika Sharma, Demonstrator, Electrical Engg conducted the proceedings of the program.

HOD Electrical Engg Department, Er.Manjeet Singh presented the vote of thanks.Er. Vandana Chib, Er. Akhil Kumar, Er. Devika Bhardwaj, Er. Ritesh Gupta and  faculty of the department were also present on the occasion.
